My husband and I stayed her one night only. We had 4 cases and my husband uses a cane. When we arrived the lady behind the nest came out to help as the only way into reception was like 6 stairs. That was very nice. The only disappointment was we had a ground floor room that still had steps (?)

    • Hilton price, Fawlty service & everything on tomorrows delivery

I usually take a lot of notice of TA reviews but as a regular Hilton user and Honours member I just book Watford without a thought. Big Mistake! Make sure you check out the reviews for this place. So many terrible & bad ones. Mine is more minor than most and even as I am writing feels a little petty but I definitely got, as many others have commented, the vibe that they just dont care. LOVETOHELP is their motto but for it to mean anything there needs to be at least a grain of truth. Im probably a bit grumpy after a very long day travelling but as I sat down to dinner they seemed to be out of almost everything, a common gin and numerous wine options. The reason? The delivery is due tomorrow. Finally ordered a cold starter and a Greek salad. After an age the starter arrived and after another age the salad. It was a very sad salad, more of a garnish than a main but just as the waitress was walking away I asked wheres the feta? Oh weve run out, let me guess on tomorrows delivery? The manager came out, I dont like hassling waiters or waitresses, but no explanation as to why Greek salad on the menu when theyve no Feta. I wouldnt have bothered to write anything if anyone had seemed to care but they didnt. Its supposed to be a Hilton for goodness. If youre out of something pop up to Sainsburys 2 mins away and get it dont just moan about tomorrows delivery!!!

    • Overpriced hotel that doesn't care

Awful night's sleep. Walls paper thin, never got to sleep. No A&C in the rooms just a fan. Went to get something to eat in their bar/restaurant at 18:30. There was only one other family eating but they were to busy to serve us or take an order for food and couldn't care less. The reason was due to the fact that they were looking after a loud raucous 16 year old birthday function which took over the whole restaurant. The noise was unbearable. This hotel needs to sort it's priority's out. So we went hungry that evening in the end. No point ordering room service when they can't even accommodate you in the restaurant. This hotel is overstaffed with the employees doing nothing. Awful stay, first and last time here. It's over priced.

This a good hotel to stay if one is visiting London by car. Its only 20 minutes train ride to the city. The hotel is not attractive as the other Hiltons I have been. It does need a pick me up facial refurbishment. Its so out dated. The room is clean but the shower curtain is ripped on its tabs and a towel has a hole in it! This is not the standard I know of Hilton hotels! The hotel seemed busy, I did not have a good sleep during my stay. Kids were running noisily very early in the morning ( around 6ish in the morning) to top it up the guests of the opposite room were banging the door loudly and shouting his/her name so the door will be opened! We had food in the restaurant. It was good and the service was great! The waitress was attentive, polite and friendly. We enjoyed our tea!

Our family room was a good size but the room was outdated like nothing has been done for about 20 years since it was first built! The shower was new looking but there was an MDF board as bath panel along with grout missing on dated looking tiles and old Staines in the carpets throughout. In serious need of redecoration. We found an iron burn mark on the duvet cover, and the whole room was rather cheap and tired looking. We had breakfast included but this was a shambles. We found the ingredients were poor quality and over cooked. The person serving could not even poach an egg! When asked about allergens in food they had nothing to hand and it took the staff 20 mins to come back with a list of items which were nit even on the breakfast menu. The chef advised he did not think there was any peanuts present in the bacon and if we are unsure dont eat. Will never stay at a Hilton again as there are better cheaper alternatives.
