    • Family Friendly and Homely Style Motel

From the moment we arrived we were treated like family. Zain the Director was incredibly polite, helpful and on-top of things. The WiFi wasnt working well one evening so Zain worked on fixing it, and even shared his personal hotspot so I could connect while it was restoring the connection. He also knew the area well and provided a good itinerary of other things to do - they have a map which is helpful but given how small Daylesford is, you can go without the map as there are few roads and many signs showing the main attractions: Location: shopping, Lake Walk, Boathouse Cafe, Chocolate Mill or Mini Golf (we did all that in one day with time to spare) and Hepburn Springs are all walking distance or a few min drive away. The motel is close to everything and is walking distance to a general store- which is pricy but convenient. Motel: There are 2 large and comfortable lounges to hang out or play in, along with a pool table, Fireplace, shared Kitchen Facility and board games. They are kept toasty warm in the evenings and during the day the windows are open so it does not dry out or get too stuffy from the electrical panel heaters. We came over Grandfinal Longweekend and met Ashlee and Tracy and Doug, who work at the motel and make the guests feel at home. They were super nice, especially Ashlee who loves kids and spent some time entertaining our 5 year old and showing her a few things in the lounges. Room: We had a double and single bed in our room and it was large enough for 2 adults and 2 children. There was a fridge and tea/coffee ammenities and a kettle as well as plenty of spots to hang swimming stuff/towels and jackets. We had just come from the Hepburn Springs Spa on a chilly day and found the room heated up quite fast. The only negative was the 2 faucets (hot/cold water) while quaint, wastes water and the taps themselves are not easy to turn so you can reduce the water usage. With a few minor upgrades this is a 5 star place. The continental breakfast was ready well before 8am and was well stocked - the only drawback was some tables had wheels which were not lockable, so the table shifts while eating, so a bit harder to avoid a spill with kids. Other than that - no complaints. We were impressed with the friendliness and cleanliness of the establishment - kid friendly and certainly worth staying again.

Walking into reception was bright and inviting. That's it..!! Room was small and you cannot swing a cat around least of all trying to fit 2-3 persons in, paint peeling around windows, heater out dated and couldn't handle the cold nights..! Corridors so tight that trying to get to rooms if other guest walking towards you, it becomes an intimacy not wanted squeezing past them. Partner requested a spa / massage. An age staff member informs us that she will have to run down the road and see if is anyone is available to come to premises to fulfill our wishes, which did not happen..! No facilities in the rooms, no microwave, no kettle, no toaster, no cups etc. Breakfast room in area next to smoker's area and one gets a blast of cold air when anyone walks in or out. If wanting tea / coffee.. the lounge is available if you want to walk into a makeshift kitchen and locate and make what you're after..! The car park is situated behind the premises. Driveway so tight to get into we were told to drive around the block and we had to drive in via a mud trodden, wet lane way into the side of property. We had to do a 100mtr dash up the hill in open pouring rain to get to reception at the front. The car park area looks like one is parking next to an old rustic barn (which actually is the Guest House?)..! Disappointed weekend away and thought by the reviews it was going to be wonderful. Surprisingly the past reviews are mentions and compliments of the premises on the same topics. (Immaculate rooms, common areas, billiard table, the manager Rhonda and how everything was perfect)..! Actually believe that the reviews are all written by the affiliated, owners, staff and management..!

We were impressed by the warm welcome we received from the Manager, Rhonda, who, upon arrival, gave us a personal tour of the guest house. The facilities were equally warm and welcoming, with a spacious, well-appointed lounge area and separate billiards room with a beautifully-maintained, free billiards table, bar area and additional lounge seating. Our room was as immaculately presented and as charming as the rest of the guest house. We had a peaceful nights sleep in very comfortable beds. Added touches included free tea, coffee and cakes, free snacks for hungry kids and a collection of board games. Thank you Rhonda and team for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay - well be back!
