Price was ok even the hotel is a bit outdated. Sheets are clean and service average. Room is big and has a little kitchen, fridge, stove but no minibar. Location is ok if you are traveling by car. Parking was free that is great add on value.

    • Apartment Living in Espoo

      Reviewed 27 May 2019

The Hellsten Apartment hotel is near the freeway and about 10 minute drive from a large shopping centre in Espoo, it is not centrally located. However with free car parking and only a 30 minute drive from the airport and a 20 minute drive to my office, the location worked for me. The entrance has a lot of steps, but once in check in was easy and efficient - There is some seating area available on the same floor as reception with books and a computer for printing airline tickets etc. The room itself was large, two double beds and a kitchen (Fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, hob, kettle and toaster). Room was clean and comfortable, good wifi, 24 inch TV, 4 seat table, sofa and desk and chair. As this is an apartment hotel, the rooms are not serviced each day, but at the end of your stay. I found the bed comfortable and got good night sleep, the hotel was quiet and outside is a residential area. I did make a trip to the local supermarket (About 10 minute drive and with free parking) to buy supplies so I could cook myself an evening meal, something I really enjoyed. Breakfast was included in the room rate but just had tea and toast in the room as I preferred this. I enjoyed my stay, good quality for the money (About 100 Euro's a night).

    • Nice hotel for the price, but dont expect miracles

      Reviewed 27 January 2019

Hellsten Espoo is a nice hotel with easy traffic connections to just about anywhere in the Greater Helsinki area. As an apartment hotel it offers rooms with simple gear to live for extended periods of time like a stove, pots, pans and utensils to cook and a fridge with a small freezer box. I stayed in a studio which was compact, but not too small and even had a little balcony. The atmosphere at the hotel was nice and the reception staff was really friendly. The hotel offers breakfast service, which was decent enough, but nothing special. Once again, youre not paying that much so youre practically getting what youre paying for. The downside, again consider the price tag, is that the furniture in the rooms are pretty worn down from the carpet on the floor to the small chair. My room also had some weird brownish stuff all over the white wooden bathroom ceiling, which I suspected to be mold, so the rooms could use some TLC. I only stayed for a night so I didnt mind that much.

    • Good for Business Stays

      Reviewed 04 September 2018

I've stayed in one of the other Hesten's before on business so was happy to book this one in Espoo when I needed to be in the area. Accommodation is clean and functional. Indeed it's pretty similar to student halls of residence. My single room had a fully functioning kitchen which was impressive together with a small table, dining chair and easy-chair. Front of house was good with excellent English. Breakfast is served downstairs and the buffet is pretty good in terms of choice but don't expect a gourmet offering. overall it's simple and does the job for a business stay. The only thing I'd like to see improved is the bed. By the end of my second night, I found it hard and uncomfortable with a very thin mattress.

    • Decent Place..

      Reviewed 01 September 2018

Hellsten is an apartment hotel. Stayed for couple of weeks here this summer. The place is very quite. I don't have any complains ..the stay was decent ..below are few pointer to help fellow travellers 1. The room I stayed was for a single person .. it was very small for my liking ..the bed is literally for a single person. 2. Having said the amenities within the room are all I required. Hotplates with all required cooking stuff is made available. TV fridge wardrobe ..etc all there. 3. They have a laundry room common for all guests. 4. Breakfast served is decent however the menu doesn't change. It's almost same everyday! 6. The place is not far from the train station about 15 20mins by bus. The train station also has the main bus station and a mall to shop from. 7. The hotel is in a residential area so the shopping areas /markets are not exactly next door ..you will need to walk a bit to reach nearest.
