Looks like nothing from the outside but this is a fantastic hostel. The rooms are beautiful and clean with a lovely bathroom. I would definitely stay here again. Everything has recently been refurbished. Very comfortable beds.

We stayed here for a single night in a triple room. The location was great only a couple of minutes walk to the centre. There are plenty of decent bars and restaurants to choose from in town. The hostel is hoi g through extensive renovation. The entrance was like a building site, but once up to reception everything was great. The rooms were perfect and modern, great shower and comfortable beds.

    • Lovely hostal, unfriendly staff

Great hostel with nice room which has a cool vibe. TV and my own shower, it was relaxing and adequate. The location of the hostal was excellent. The staff member who received me did his basic duty but did not want to spend an extra minute with me.

    • Central and convenient hostel

Hostal Carrales is enjoys a very convenient location, at walking distance from both the bus station and the historic centre. Check-in was done in a couple of minutes and I was given a map and the main directions. The room was simple, a bit dark and furniture a bit outdated. The room was clean. There was a sink which was useful to minimize use of the shared bathroom. The shared bathroom was big enough and clean but looked like it would benefit from some renovation. I am not sure how many rooms shared it, but Id say a few (it was often occupied). Bedsheets were clean but very thin and worn and I could see some small (most likely) blood stains on the mattress underneath: not a big deal but would have done gladly without. A bit of noise at night due to people arriving/leaving. In a nutshell, convenient, efficient, good value albeit not particularly cheerful or pleasant to the eye.

    • Simple, clean, basic

It was an easy find off the Camino and was a good price. We had our own room, but you could hear everything: toilets flushing, people arguing, rooms being moved around or set up, footsteps, the shared bathroom down the hall. It was easy walking distance to sights, but might be far fir some (about 1/2 mile). We were able to store bikes there, but the bikes were hoisted up 3 flights of stairs. Luckily the guys working were able to help both getting bikes up in the afternoon and were present by 7 am to help in the morning.
