I hope you have made it over to trip advisor to see these reviews as I believe this property has been misrepresented on google. This property is absolutely appalling. There is no wifi at all in any of the rooms only his living room, despite the gentlemans claim when I arrived that it does work It most certainly does not. I asked him about breakfast as I was getting up to go to a meeting, so I needed to eat first. He said Ill make you a couple of slices of toast and put a fiver (5) on your bill! I was pretty shocked and said no thanks. So this is not even a B&B for a start. The bedrooms are effectively in, or just off of a gentlemans living room. He smokes in the bungalow and has a dog so it smells throughout. It is also extremely unclean throughout the property. The bathroom is shared and unclean. The room has a thin piece of netting for a curtain, you can straight in from the road so there is zero privacy. The sheets in the absolutely appalling twin single room had not been washed at all from when the last 2 people had slept in them, because of this, the sheets absolutely stank and had hairs all over them. I had to lay on the floor at some points because the smell was so unbearable, but eventually I had to get on them, fully clothed and cover the pillow with my t shirt. Throughout the night until 4am someone was coming in and out of the property so I was prevented from sleeping anyway. The bedroom had two doors, one I could lock and one I couldnt, so I felt unsafe all night with this person coming in and out, another guest I think. It was a truly awful experience. I grabbed all my things at 6am and ran out the door. There were no taxis available at all in this area so I had to walk 40 minutes on a motorway road with no pavements to get the nearest establishment (another hotel). Unfortunately there is nothing good I can say about this place at all. It was scary and disgusting.

When we arrived at the property the owner was unavailable to let us in so we followed instructions to access building down the side pass mobility scooter, there was belongings and debris everywhere how we didn't fall over i don't know. then we turned a corner into the yard which was covered in dog *hit and oh the smell. then we accessed the building and again oh the smell was overwhelming. There were belongings scattered everywhere, actual food left on the dining table. clothes covered the sofa. coffee table had leftover crisps and biscuits all over it. the bedroom was grotty, tired and again it smelt stale. trust me if i thought i could have got alternative accommodation at that time day i would have but stayed only 1 of the 2 nights booked. the bed cricked. a tiny amount of toilet paper was left. leftover clothes in bottom of wardrobe. used tissues left in drawers. the shared kitchen only had dirty cups. the shared fridge wasn't clean. the towels provided were dog towels. the towel had motif of dog paws on it so i knew. as i say disgusting, don't stay here

There was nobody ther on arrival. I phoned and was told to just walk in, which I did but it was through the owners own accomodation. There was a dog in the house that did not bother me but the poor thing was terrified. I did not feel comfortable on my on stay there even though I had taken my dog with me. I did not want to stay for breakfast so could not comment on the breakfast but would not reccommend if you were staying on your own.

I've read previous reviews. I feel sad people are judgemental. If they wanted the Ritz they shouldve stayed there. Yes it's budget. Bathrooms were clean and I had made an error on my booking and booked the wrong day by accident. The 2 went out of their way and made me up a room on the spot making me feel welcome hence why I have given them four stars as I'd put them out and they still helped me as I had interview the next day. The mattress was lovely. They have a very lovely and friendly dog. I was on a budget. They delivered and made me feel welcome. Lovely to talk to. Thank you again. If I get the job. I will go back.

I paid 42.50 for a twin room in which I stayed on my own. The room itself was clean and the amenities were adequate, but the bed i slept on was unbearable to say the least. There was a shared bathroom that had seen better days and I had to wait at least 15 minutes for the hot water to start filtering through to be able to take a shower. Not good if you're working man like me. The wifi was Talk Talk, yes, possibly the worst provider in the UK and I couldn't even pick it up from my room so that was a waste. My network provider is o2 and I had no data coverage at all inside the house. To finish up here, don't bother with Hamlet B&B!
