    • Disgusting! Stay clear of this hotel!

      My partner and I stayed at this hotel last week and the pictures the hotel supplies are not even close to what the rooms really look like and the smell in the room was awful it kind of smelt like mold. It was disgusting and the staff are terrible they dont care about their guests. I would warn people to stay far away from this place and dont book it off of price or pictures. Your better spending more to be at a nice hotel.

      There is very good wifi in the hotel, and the hotel itself looks very fancy for first glance. In the hotel room every single outlet is used to plug something in, so if you want to charge your devices you have to look for the very well hidden outlets and decide on what to unplug. There is a huge window in the rooms, and you cannot close the blinds on the window. In the night, all of the bright lights from the city will be shining through your window making it impossible to sleep. If your like me and you need darkness to sleep, youll be waking up at 7:30 when your on vacation because theres nothing you can do to combat the sun coming up. The alarm clock is wrong, there is no mini fridge, the TV is small, and the bathroom has no fan. The shower is freezing cold at maximum heat, unless you wait 15 minutes for it to warm up. The photo I used shows how the only opaque blinds cannot be closed. Everything that a hotel would have, either wasnt here, or was average if I didnt discuss it.

      As with the previous review, we had pre-booked a room at the hotel. We were coming in from out of town and received an email notice with no explanation literally about 10 minutes before our arrival. We called the hotel immediately and were told the same, that the hotel was no longer making rooms available. Unlike the previous review, our room was booked directly trough the hotel website. The person who answered was somewhat rude in tone when asked why the deal was. No further explanation was offered, nor was any assistance in finding another location to stay (we ultimately did about 25 minutes away at near $150 more for the night). I would absolutely NOT recommend this hotel after this experience. Sad since we had stayed there a few months earlier and had a nice experience. Dont know what has happened since.

      I got BTS tickets in May for a show on September 20th. I booked a room through Expedia on May 7th, two days after I purchased my tickets. On Monday, September 17th, I called the hotel to inform them we were going to be a late check in since our bus wouldn't be arriving until 9:15 pm. I was informed by the front desk that they "don't take reservations through Expedia" and that I didn't have a room. "The hotel has gone in another direction" I was told and they informed me that they had "closed". I was in a panic as I knew that hotel rooms were going to be very hard to come by given that BTS is insanely popular and tons of people were going to be in the city to see them (which is why I booked right after I got tickets in early May!). I was never informed of this. No phone call, no email, nothing. They STILL had my money because it had been paid in advance by credit card. I ended up having to get Expedia to find me another room, which ended up being in Grimsby, a $50 cab ride away. One of the cab drivers listened to my story of what happened and told me that the hotel lied and was still open. It seems to me that you "cancelled" my reservation since I booked early at a good rate and then double charged for the room at the inflated rate once you realized what was happening with the influx of out-of-town guests. You took advantage of ARMY and ripped me off. What would have happened if I'd have shown up with my confirmation email and bill? I had my 12 year old cousin with me and we would have been stranded in downtown Hamilton late at night with nowhere to go if it wasn't for me calling to let you know I would be a late check in! This is not acceptable! People need to be aware of this shady practice. I will be filing a formal complaint and I expect this to be resolved.

      We had a very good stay at the Plaza Hotel. The room was very spacious and clean with a comfortable king size bed. Although it faced onto the main road, we really didn't hear much of the traffic outside and had a great sleep! The complimentary breakfast was good and the eggs and bacon were hot. The only annoying small things were having to pay for parking and the card key had to be re-keyed several times because one of the machines didn't work properly. But, front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
