Tanya made the reservation very easy. She greeted us on arrival and made us feel welcome. We got a tour of the building. It's old but neat. I liked it. I slept great and had a nice shower in the morning. I would stay there again :)

Felt right at home even before I got there. The email exchange with the owner made me super comfortable right off the bat. We needed an early check in then a late check in they were very accommodating. They are very easy going and provide a nice kitchen with coffee, ntea and all of the amenities one would expect at a hostel. My crew and I stayed in the two private rooms in the basement called the Faust and The Potter Room. Both very comfortable rooms/beds. This place has some nice areas to hang in. A library and outside at the picnic table. Although I'm not much of a hostel person and didn't stay in the dorm I wouldn't hesitate to rent a private room here again.

This beautiful historic home has been converted into a comfortable hostel for travelers. Tanya, my host was super friendly and accommodating and was able to take care of my needs whenever I needed them. I spent a little extra on a private room as I prefer privacy but there is also a dorm area where multiple people can share a room. If you like spiral staircases, you'll love this place (but be careful, of course). The kitchen has plenty of complimentary food, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. I was grateful that there was a computer to use, as my phone did not work in Canada and was able to access my social media and e-mail. My room was small but accommodating. For those who pack light and don't need much room, it's great.

I stayed at Hamilton's guesthouse for three nights. The hosts were very devoted, welcoming and helpful. They really helped me make my stay in Hamilton as good as it gets. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. It was very quiet and relaxing but close enough to a lot of bars and restaurants for those who want to stay up late. The house is also close to the train/bus station. Great deal !

I spent a couple of weeks at the hostel during the 2015 Pan Am Games. I had my own room in the basement which was quiet and close to the kitchen, laundry room and washrooms. The hostel location is ideal since it is close to bus stops, downtown and there is also a convenience store nearby. Bicycles are available which is a bonus in this bike friendly area - the bike lanes are just outside the hostel! The hostel is a typical hostel and everyone is expected to clean up after themselves. Some days the place was clean while other days there were messy/dirty people staying who decided they could leave the place a mess. Staff are not around all the time, but you can usually reach them by phone. I'd stay here again considering the price and location.
