Elegant and gracious house, fascinating story. Courteous and welcoming hosts. Fine attention to detail, beautifully maintained. Very comfortable and clean, all material comforts. Lovely shady verandah, and leafy outlook. A treat to stay there.

Grove Manor is a great place to stay. I stayed in the French room which was upstairs and opened out onto the balcony. Large room with desk to work at. Nice furnishings and comfortable bed. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and engaging. Spent a bit of time talking about Australia and New Zealand. The cat was also very friendly and paid me a visit not long after I checked into my room. Close to cafes, restaurants and shops. I will definitely stay here again if I am back up that way and recommend it to others.

My 9 y/o son, 10 y/o daughter and myself (female) stayed with Trevor and Fiona for 6 days. Naturally, when youre staying at someone elses house youve never been to and you dont have your husband with you, youre concerned about everyones welfare. Within an hour I felt I could relax. Fiona was fussing and clucking around the kids and Trevor was teaching my boy a few chords on the guitar. Our rooms were perfectly furnished, air-conditioned, organic toiletries were provided, as were breakfast and coffee. We were told that we could take some of Fionas homemade muffins and organic fruit with us on our daily road trips. When we were all there of an evening, drinks and nibbles were provided while watching the possums wake up. We went into South Bank via train and Go Cards were provided for us which would have been a real nuisance if they werent. The kids were given a fantastic gift that was especially designed just for them. We asked for a different sleeping arrangement and that was done no problems. While attempting to get a photo of the possums, I smashed my wine glass and spilt red wine on the top deck and consequently on the white tiles bellow no problem, all cleaned up. Harry the cat, the chooks and the possums were all very entertaining. There arent too many people left in this world who are honest, trustworthy, hardworking, giving and likable as these two are. Congratulations to them both on a wonderful partnership and a great business that theyve built.

    • A comfortable, hospitable B&B, ideally placed for a visit to Brisbane

My wife and I were visiting from the UK and needed somewhere to stay for a few days en route to Airlie Beach. We arrived at Grove Manor early in the morning by prior arrangement. We were welcomed by Trevor and Fiona who showed us round their lovely home, which looks out onto a small park. The building is a modern replica of a southern USA C19 house - ideally adapted to the Brisbane climate. Our room was very comfortable with French windows onto the balcony. Despite being in the suburbs there is plenty of wildlife: possums, brush turkeys and Harry the cat. Breakfast was a DIY job in the family kitchen, always with delicious baked goods made by Fiona. Our hosts were very hospitable and happy to share their extensive knowledge of the local area. The 61 bus takes you into Brisbane centre in 20 minutes. It is possible to walk it but the route is very hilly. Would we stay again? Definitely.

We were visiting friend in Ashgrove Brisbane so went looking for some local accommodation. We have never stayed in a B&B before but Fiona and Trevor were so welcoming it was a lovely experience. Harry also added his special welcome which we loved. The house and rooms are charming opening onto a wide verandah which would be a great relaxation spot for gusted staying a little longer than we did. Would highly recommend this accommodation for those looking for something more than a stark hotel room.
