    • Certainly not a Four Star Hotel

This Hotel needs a bit of TLC and some work carried out to its rooms. The Shower door leaked so bad that the water was almost in to the hall outside the room. The noise from the road outside was constant day and night and the sirens from ambulances seemed to go on all night as well. The main complaint we had was the food. Sorry to say it but school dinners would have been better than what we were set down, and i was never in a hotel before where they asked you to pick the next nights dinner. a night before. Needless to say we ate out after 2 nights. The pool area was nice but the rooms and the food definitely need changed. Certainly would not class this a 4 star.Maybe a 2 Star. There wasnt even tea making facilities anywhere in the hotel.

Lovely entrance, staff friendly and helpful, we tried to use our Italian on them on a daily basis and most of the staff were delighted if not sometimes amused by our attempts, but they all speak good english. Rooms had comfortable beds, air conditioning, small fridge for water but what was nice was that on arrival there was 2 bottles of still water and 2 bottles of sparkling water for the first night. There is also a safe to use free of charge! There is also some toiletries, eg handsoap, shower gel, I think shower caps but we didnt open them, there is always a spare roll of toilet paper put into your room, beds made up every day and towels replaced everyday. The hotel also supply one towel a week ( i think) to use at the pool side.(we had our own). The TV in the room has many European channels but there is BBC world news and Paramount which shows some american police shows and every night there is a film which starts about 9.20pm in English. Other entertainment, there is a lounge where there are some games provided, a large TV, some evenings a girl comes in and sings while you eat and a bloke comes in other nights with his guitar but other than that there isn't any but to be honest I wasn't there for entertainment, I enjoyed a wee drink in my room eating chocolate, crisps and watching Paramount! Seaview room will let you see Vesuvius which we regret not booking now. Food....wow wow wow I so love Italian food and put on 8lb in weight! If you want, you can choose to swap evening meal for lunch should you wish to go out into Sorrento town in the evening. They also have a pizza night once a week where they literally cook the pizza in an outside oven and serve it straight away until you are stuffed! Drinks at meal time are charged to your room and are paid along with the tourist tax at the end of the holiday. You can pay as you go the rest of the time. There is a free mini bus that takes you to either Sorrento town or down to the water front in Seiano (limited space) and you need to book in advance but we used the local train which runs frequently and tickets can be bought at reception for 2 euros per person per way. The train station is just a short walk away on the same side of the road as the hotel. There isnt much down at the water front in Seiano but its still worth a visit, there is a walking path that is quite steep and cobbly. The only not so good thing about this hotel is that it is on a very busy road but then most roads anywhere in that area are very busy and it has to be crossed if you want to either go to the water front/beach is Seiano or buy anything from the local food shop.

Hotel sits in an elevated position giving an excellent view across the Bay of Naples. The hotel itself sits in manicured gardens and is tastefully decorated. The two pools were kept clean and one of the unexpected attractions was the robot pool cleaner!! The staff are very friendly and no problem is too much. A special mention here to Elisa a star quality waitress with personality by the bucketload. Food quality and choice were excellent and a pizza night was arranged in the aforementioned gardens.

We stayed here for 5 nights and thought it very nice. Yes it is a 4* hotel but we were told by our travel agent that 4* in Italy is 3* in the rest of the world. The rooms are clean and tidy and yes the towels are akin to tea towels and dont really dry you well. The walls are a bit thin so noise travels and yes the road is v noisy but we managed to tune it out. The staff are very friendly and helpful with nothing being too much trouble! The pool area is lovely with views of Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples being outstanding. Breakfast was ok with variety and choice but the bacon was just cut up small pieces and not that good. However the croissants and pastries were lovely. If you want a base to visit Pompeii and Herculaneum then this is a good choice as the railway station is a 10 minute walk away and you can buy your tickets from reception. Word or warning though as the walk consists of quite a steep hill - ok going to the station as its downhill - coming back is another story. If you have mobility issues not the place for you. If we went back to this part of Italy would we stay there again - probably. We didnt eat dinner here as there are two excellent restaurants both within a 5 minute walk and both superb. See my other reviews.

This is our 2nd time at this hotel, last May and this time on the 13th of September. We had such a lovely time last year we decided to come back this year and it was even better. The staff are so friendly and helpful, Francisco was there when we arrived and accommodated us with the same perfect sea view room we had last year which was a very nice touch. Luigi was his usual bubbly self and greeted us like friends and continued to do so throughout our stay. Ciro who runs the bar is a gentleman through and through, all the staff are great and Marianna in the restaurant is a star! The hotel is spotless and the pool area is superb, the hotel also has a courtesy bus to take you to the marina or into town, they are very accommodating. We cannot wait to return to this hotel!
