Love this place so peaceful and calm. Once in the resort not much to do but for just chill and relax is perfect. Ive been here many times and its one of my favorite places to visit when in Nicaragua. We were a big group and we were accommodated very nicely staff is great rooms are very clean and fully furnished. A walk on the coast in the afternoon is so beautiful

Very quiet and relaxing, Great restaurant and staff, best "private" beaches of the area. The hotel is nice but a bit dark and the double rooms do not have balcony, only the "family" rooms. Clean and Pet friendly! Good service and nice pool open 24hrs !

We stayed at Gran Pacifica for a week and what a week! This hotel is fairly remote, a good 45 minutes from the nearest supermarket but once you are here and there is nothing to do but relax, you will be in heaven. The pool area is nice and right on the beach. You can't swim right in front of the hotel but you can walk a bit to a good spot for swimming. The beach itself is absolutely amazing - you can walk for miles and there are few other houses on the beach, and no large hotels at all. There is amazing driftwood, rocks, and the seashell collecting is first rate. The hotel restaurant is very good - and for a fairly remote property, has a wide variety of fish, meat, poultry on the menu. We stayed in condo #111, which is right next to the pool and restaurant and at first we thought would be too loud but it wasn't. We loved being able to open the doors and be right at the pool. We had a two bedroom condo, which was huge - large living area, kitchen, and two beds and baths plus washer dryer, internet, and AC/ceiling fans. My advice would be to spend a couple of days in Granada doing the tourist things (volcano tour, boat ride on the lake, colorful markets) and then head to Gran Pacific to unwind and just enjoy. Four wheel drive would be recommended as the road leading into the property is dusty and a bit bumpy. Not required, but helpful. Sunsets, absolutely stunning.

    • Beware of unremodeled rooms

There is much to like about the GP, there are empty beaches for as far as you want to walk, a nice pool, and great staff. If you are considering staying, a couple of tips: - make sure you get a remodeled room, the first one we were shown was very dated. The second one, which we took, had an upgraded shower which was nice (walk in vs tub in first) but still had tube TV's (in spite of listing promising flat screen) which took up a big piece of the living room. - if you get a single room there will be no balcony (second or third floor) or a small slab with no shade (first floor). The single rooms have the bed room on the parking lot side and are long and thin (standard one bedroom apartment layout). Also the single rooms are adjoining the deluxe two bedrooms, and the noise travels through the passage door (which is right beside the TV in both rooms). - the two bedroom and deluxe two bedroom units looked much nicer - more light and good (standard) or huge (deluxe) balconies. - there is a second beach which requires a shuttle to get to. They don't tell you there's a fee for the shuttle. The beach is miles long. Other than a few tables there's nothing there except a security guard. A great place if you want a private day with no distractions. - The promised second restaurant/ snack bar was not open during our stay, and didn't look like it had been for awhile. - The food and wait staff are great. Budget about $100 + for food for 2 per day. - The shuttle to the airport is $100 each way for 2. It's about 90 minutes, the last 6 km are through an area that needs a four wheel or a very skilled two wheel driver. I would have buried the car in the deep mud 3 km from the resort, not fun. - Your last chance to buy beer or snacks on the way in is a small store just before the pavement ends. - Some guests went fishing (you need to swim out about 1/4 mile to catch the boat) and caught tuna and snapper, which the chef prepared. - Golf course is nine holes with two tee placements on 6 of the holes. Net, if you want a small isolated resort I'd rate this a four star place (it's not five star by any stretch) that's a little dated but a good retreat.
