    • Nice but strange

We were supposed to stay 2 nights in this lodge, but we left after only one. After the really great visit to the Gorillas, and a half day at the village next to the hotel, one of the poorest in Uganda, we moved on. the hotel was nice , and the staff friendly, but it was a cold place, darker than usual, and did not have a good vibe.

    • Amazing location and wonderful staff

I travelled to Uganda on my own and was so well looked after from the moment I arrived. David picked me up at Kisoro airport and drove me to the Gorilla Safari Lodge. He was a very competent driver and his knowledge of the area was fabulous. He stopped for photos along the way and made the drive a memorable one. David was my driver for the five days I was there and also drove me from Uganda across the border to my accommodation in Rwanda. I felt safe with him at all times and he made the border crossing a safe and easy process for me. I cannot thank the staff at Gorilla Safari Lodge enough. Christina (I hope I have spelt her name right) was just divine. Nothing was ever too much trouble and her bubbly personality and magnificent smile was a pleasure to be around. At night she would turn my bed down and put a hot water bottle in it and on a daily basis she washed my filthy muddy clothes and cleaned my boots ready for the next trek. Titus was also fantastic and was always ready to answer any questions and accommodate my needs. He was genuinely caring about my stay. Baram was also amazing. Nothing was too much to ask and I had two massages from him that were really good and kept my body going through the tough treks in the mud. All the staff were always smiling and willing to assist and help in any way they could. I loved the food as there was always a vegetarian option so I felt really nurtured and cared for by all the staff. The lodge is close to the treks and it was very comforting to have my driver, David, waiting for me as I finished a couple of quite gruelling treks. The lodge is surrounded by beautiful scenery and my room was lovely. The only slight problem was the lack of water pressure in the showers but everything else was amazing! I was quite sad to say goodbye to the staff whose company I really appreciated and enjoyed. Hope to come back again one day! Thank you :)

    • Cozy little lodge!

We stayed here for one night before gorilla trekking and it was the perfect location! I'm not sure what anyone could complain about considering how remote the lodge is. The rooms were clean, the food was excellent and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! I would not hesitate to stay here again. Also, nice touch was the hot water bottles in the bed to keep you warm!

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at the Gorilla Safari Lodge. The staff was welcoming, kind, and attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. The property is beautiful and our room was spacious, well-appointed, and had a lovely terrace where we could enjoy tea and coffee and listen to the birds in the morning. The staff was also kind enough to have a cake waiting in our room to celebrate our anniversary! The location is a three-minute drive to the Rushaga entrance to Bwindi, so is the perfect choice of lodging if you are doing gorilla trekking. If we ever get the opportunity to return to Bwindi we will most certainly stay here again.

    • Top-notch!

The wonderful Gorilla Safari Lodge on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Park was everything my husband and I hoped for and more. In our travels we've never encountered a more friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. They made everything a pleasure, and their attention to detail is second to none. Every touch was perfection, from the fires in the fireplaces to the hot water bottles in the bed at night, flowers and candles on the dining tables and excellent wines with our delicious meals. Our guide and driver, Hannington, provided by Crystal Safaris and associated with the lodge, was absolutely brilliant. His bravery and skill behind the wheel were crucial to the success of our gorilla trek. We highly recommend this lodge.
