I would of given it a poor rating however the fact the staff were friendly I gave an extra point plus the breakfast was nice too and our room was spacious too and in a good location. The bad points were the bar was shut and rather than have beer on tap it was in cans at about 4.

Clean budget hotel with a good choice of breakfast.Friendly staff would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap nights stay. The bed was surprisingly very comfortable. We arrived late evening although there was no food on offer plenty of eateries in the area.

    • Very good value - slightly out of town centre

This was the cheapest stay I could find in the area. The hotel appears to be recently refurbished and was very spick and span. Room was clean and tidy and had all the usual facilities (tea, TV etc). Good value. Only criticism is they have not got round to signage yet so had to explore building to find room. Breakfast was fine if not a tad expensive.

More like student accommodation than a hotel. No working lift, dripping toilet all night, creeking floor boards, scruffy old look about the place, room key card never worked, workman painting with more paint going on the floor, and my case, than on the wall. Had to squeeze past his area to get to the room. Must have violated a number of H& S laws. Not worth any more than one star.

Stayed here with a friend for one night (thank god) to watch a live event locally. Paid 94 for a twin room and breakfast x2. Upon arrival we went into a building on the right (from the pokey carpark) opposite the actual globe hotel which looked lovely; this was where the reception was. We were given our room card and pointed to the building, we were kindly told it was on the second floor. Stair wells were creaky with areas of the banisters almost coming away at the wall. Also as you reach the second floor the ceiling is low MIND YOUR HEAD. The decor is very dated and there were several themes going on (but I sort of liked that). We made it to our floor (narrowly escaping concussion) and had no Idea where our room was as there were no room markers in the corridoor and the wing where our room the lights were out so it was pitch black. We entered the room and explored. I opened the wardrobe and previous guest had left some of their clothes. The bathroom/cupboard was like nothing Ive ever seen before. Sadly it didnt lead us to Narnia, was just rusty and a bit too compact (the tap water also tested weird) We went out for a few drinks and said event. On our return and may I add miraculously experienced no bumped heads, we get to our wing and see an uplighter, I guess the ceiling lights actually blew. At that stage I needed a cup of tea... Managed to fill the kettle half full from the sink. Spent 5 minutes trying to find a suitable plug socket. I had to plug it in by the window. It began to hurt laughing. Breakfast was not worth the 7.50. Goto a cafe.
