    • Wrong attitude towards customers

My son and I arrived at this pub at 6:45 in the evening after a nice walk, intending to have any drink. When we entered no one took initially notice of us, eventually a lady (who previously walked past us without taking any notice) told us that she was "terribly sorry", but the beer lines where being cleaned. I never said we wanted a draft beer, and I asked if we could have any other drink, but she said, with a look at the wall clock, that the pub closed at 7. She must have seen something different on clock, because as I pointed out it was 6:45. There were 2 gentlemen sitting at the bar with a full pint each, so the pub was open and there would have been plenty of time to serve a bottled drink and to finish it. It is obvious that the landlady did not intend to be helpful, instead she repeatedly underlined that the pub closed at 7 looking at clock. I dont know how the rooms, the kitchen and the rest of the service are, but if this is the welcoming I would not bear much hope. The overapologetic manners of the landlady sounded false and irritating, if not offensive. Fortunately we managed to find other more friendly places for our drinks. Since we are fairly local, we will simply not go there again, and so I recommend, and I will do so in future, to everyone .

As a pub stay goes it was ok , staff were only friendly when we were checking out. A shame no one interacted with us we felt alienated. Poor reception for phone, internet did not reach some rooms ,rooms tiny had hit my head on tv trying to get to bathroom. No hairdryer , I dont carry one now as 99% of place supply them , Loved dog friendly atmosphere Dinner very mediocre, breakfast was good.

We booked a Family En Suite room and due to our own fault, the booking was made for 2... not 2 plus 3 kids. The owner, Sofie could not have been more helpful and had a great solution in a flash... wonderful service with a smile. The place is fantastic... great staff and wonderful food. The Inn is just beautiful... the room was lovely. If you are heading to Blenheim Palace then stay here... just 20 minutes away and the hospitality, service and friendly staff and locals is well worth it... 10 out of 10.
