Just returned from Esmeralda we were really worried because of some of the reviews on here, ok the bedrooms are very dated granted room but for price we paid ( booked independently) it had everything we needed for a beach holiday. Room was clean, with a powerful shower they are just basic rooms, no coffee facilities, no fridge, downstairs is a coffee machine 10am-7pm. I took a hairdryer because someone said they werent in rooms ours did have one though. Staff had very limited English but were all friendly, Location for us was perfect, right out of the hotel across the road is the beach, there are lots of shops and cafes, we tended to turn left within 2 mins lovely little cafes, Refuel was our fav staff were so welcoming. Walk a little further and you are bang into old Spanish town, if you fancy the new town its a nice slow 10-15 min walk. Hotel was full of respectful guests mainly Spanish, breakfast a continental affair with 2 hot choices but free so you cant possibly complain. All in all we loved it and will definitely rebook we loved being in old town and getting a good nights sleep away from the craziness of new town, it was lovely to have a night at Sinatras and Jokers etc then walk home along the prom knowing we would sleep well especially with their air con its fabulous. So yes we will definitely rebook but will definitely have a sea view room for the views of the beach and the bay they are stunning never been in a hotel where you lie on your bed and have beautiful views.

After reading reviews were not looking forward to coming here but were pleasantly surprised. Basic but very clean. Ideal spot overlooking beach front and next to a cracking bar/restaurant refuel. Would definitely come back cheap and cheerful

This hotel is not represented by the photos on the booking site which suggests it's a art hotel. This is in fact a very VERY basic hotel with little or no ammenaties. Our room had three beds (for some reason) a tatty small dresser and that's it. 2/3 beds were terrible and if the maid had a sweeping brush she didn't know how to use it. Bathroom was very strange and any water that hit the wall from the shower ran into the floor. Staff were not particularly helpful apart from 1 very nice night porter. Breakfast was ok if you like continental but hot breakfast was a lottery of two items only. No rooms available for a late check out which was terrible given we didn't fly till 23:00, nowhere to shower The only good points are it's quiet outside in the evening. 3 very nice bars (Inc one amazing eatery called gusto's) 20ft away. Free AC (with 10e deposit) Gr8 for old town Very close to beach If u pay for a room with a view the view is gr8. Overall one to avoid unless Ur there for a weekend or will only sleep in it.

Were to start booked this for my husbands birthday and our anniversary didnt arrive till early hours so were both shattered but on first proper look at the well all I can call it is cupboard was shock the smell were woken to was public toilets . I then thought it was still quite early hours as quite dark in room but no it was after 8 oclock on opening curtains the view we got was shocking as photo shows . We did complain and told to pay extra 10 euro each p/n and we could be moved this we refused to do we payed enough . We arrived early hours Wednesday morning I was begging my hubby to take me home on Thursday his birthday . We have to stay out all day and night as the room is that bad we only go back drunk to be able to sleep . Ive never been to Benidorm before and I will certainly not be back this hotel needs shut down they only care about there own people not spoke to us since we complained
