My new husband and i hosted a Day 2 BBQ party at the Emmet Hotel on the 17th of august 2019. The staff at the Emmett Hotel could not have been more obliging and friendly. We had a few extra guests who turned up unexpectantly and the chef and staff catered for the extra crowd! The hotel have a beautiful BBQ space and serve delicious wholesome food . An excellent choice if you have any family function coming up. Reception staff via email and phone were always warm and friendly.

We stayed here for one night onroute to a wedding nearby the following day ... we were with other family members .. we were all in the bar area and we waited at least 20 mins before we eventually had to ask for food menu ... food came and was very very average . The steak was tough as old boots and the chips were greasy .. the place was full of flies which added to the distaste...we went into the library to relax but again I counted at least 30 flies buzzing around the lights .. finally the rooms were very average , our double bed was two singles side by side and you could feel the bump where they met . The room was unbearably hot , no air conditioning and by the time we left we needed another shower .. my sisters room was supposed to be a double also but the bed was queen sized .. her husband is a big man and slept in the chair because the bed was too small for them both .. this was mentioned at check out but shrugged off ...I personally wouldnt stay there again nor would I recommend it .. I would rate it 2 star at the most...

    • More of a bed and breakfast than a hotel

I arrived to find no dedicated hotel parking and you take pot luck to find a place in the square. No lift or concierge so as someone in their mid sixties with a back problem I had to carry a 25 kg suitcase upstairs. Have you ever had a hotel room with no window or air conditioning? Well this one did! I survived the noisy bar on the floor below but was kept awake by a continual stream of inebriated people entering the hotel between 2.30 and 3.30 am, some shouting, one whistling and another singing until 4am. The bathroom body towels were very small. But to add insult to injury they charged 169, over 150 for this privilege! I have stayed in 3 five star hotels on this trip (see other reviews) for relatively little more. Avoid this one
