    • Quaint but not for me.

The hotel is a beautiful old building, the room was very big and the bathroom huge. The gardens were also lovely, the service welcoming and friendly. But I thought overall it was a little tried. The shelf of teddy bears on the landing I thought was a little odd? Certainly not to my taste, but maybe in keeping with the overall look and feel of the hotel?. The light coloured carpet in the room was a little stained, the room faced the main road which is busy/noisey, there is no in-house food service, apart from breakfast. I thought it was quite pricey for what it was, But that siad there will be others who just love this type of accommodation/building, it wasn't really me.

    • Such a great breakfast

We used our grabone voucher today and had one of the best kiwi breakfast we have had in quite a while. All of the ingredients were top quality - the cook made their own potato cakes and nothing was deep fried. hallelujah !! We left the restaurant feeling most satisfied. While we were there, we wandered around and found the hotel to be beautiful. It was warm and the sun streamed through different rooms. We ran into a few guests who were departing who all expressed their delight at their stay.

    • Loved our stay. Comfortable & great location.

Eliza's is a beautiful old manor house. Very comfortable room, full breakfast cooked to order. Very close to some great restaurants, and a short walk from downtown. Staff were very friendly. Private parking (no charge). Highly recommended.

Eliza's Manor is centrally located and within walking distance to Christchurch city centre. Ample parking for our rental. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. We spent four nights and had breakfast in the mornings, delicious, affordable and filling. The staff we encountered were friendly and accommodating. Our bed was very comfortable. The under floor heating in the ensuite made our late night loo trip no chore. Tea and coffee facilities and a small fridge were in our room.

    • Olde Worlde Hotel

      Reviewed 29 March 2019

This is one of the oldest buildings in Christchurch and was affected by the earthquakes apparently but we were told it had been strengthened and refurbished. We had a ground floor bedroom which made for easy handling of cases etc. Unfortunately we arrived after 7pm so the door was locked and you had to ring for the night porter using the telephone on the outside of the building. Once this was sorted the staff were helpful and gave us suggestions for eating out walking distance away. The room was fine but the shower had black mould on it in places which was disappointing in a 'refurbished' hotel. There was an interesting slope to the floor in the bedroom - part of the 'olde worlde' character! There was no fridge/minibar in the room so no where to store items like margarine and non dairy milk but for most people that would not be a problem. Biggest disappointment for me was breakfast. Poor choice of fruit - some apples/clementines/bananas in a small bowl but only tinned fruit salad apart from this. I asked for a salmon omelette without onions for the cooked part of the breakfast but it came with onions which I had to fish out. We were only in the hotel overnight so possibly not long enough to judge it properly. However, hotel was quiet despite the road outside being quite a busy one and centrally located so you could easily walk to the city centre
