    • Overpriced Hotel

      Reviewed 26 June 2019

First impression was good, great welcoming on behalf of the staff. When you get to your room reality doesnt seem as pictures in website. The room is hot and humid because of the indoor pool, there is no AC! You need to ask for 3 fans in order to sleep at night. Rooms look old and need maintenance. F&B prices are over the top, service in restaurant and room service are very slow although there are plenty of waiters. Staff is nice and are willing to help you, unfortunately this didnt make our stay any better. Overall the hotel is overpriced, you dont get what you pay for. The best thing in the hotel is the view. Wouldnt go back.

    • Beautiful location in need of some TLC

I have mixed opinions regarding this hotel. The location is absolutely beautiful. But the rooms need some upgrades. I stayed in two different rooms both of which had leaky ceilings. The showers were terrible. The restaurant food was good BUT.. the service was VERY. VERY .VERY slow. All the staff were very kind especially the fellow at concierge. The spa. Excellent service... again very slow. Nothing started on time. Everything started at least 20-30 mins behind schedule and there were only three of us there! It was a nice experience but definitely not worth the money.

    • Beautiful 5 star couldve been hotel with 3 star service.

      Reviewed 16 June 2019

The problem with this hotel is that they have great tourisim rates with poor service. So if you are paying $400 dls per night (aprox), you expect it to be perfect. The arquitecture and surroundings are beautiful. Absolutely great view to the lake from any place and room, nice cozy little spa with sauna, steam and jacuzzi (for men and women separate), traditional temazcal, 2 pools (one super hot and another one super cold) with jacuzzis, good tennis and padel courts, private hot pool in your room, a small gym and a delicious menu at the restaurant but super, super slow service. Everything we ate was fantastic with one exemption (the turmeric oatmeal). They have plenty of vegetarian and original options, everything delicious, but way too slow. Expect an hour. You have to remind the waiters more than two times, if you ask for something. If you are at the pool, there will be nobody to ask for a drink. One big mistake of the hotel: the pool is not for guests only, so people that come to the restaurant, can also use it. There is not enough space for so many people and everybody wants to be at the overcrowded hot pool, while the super cold one is empty. Its a 20 year old hotel. It needs maintenance. It is still beautiful, but some areas look old and sloppy. THE ROOMS HAVE NO A/C. Having a hot private pool inside your room, heats it a lot. And Valles weather can be very hot too. With no a/c, the room turns into a moisty oven. We only had a fan that didnt help much, we asked for a second one 4 times during the day and we finally got it. That, plus sleeping with the window open, was the solution for the second night. The room is big, nice, quiet, with great view to the lake from your pool and with a good mattress, sheets and pillows. You could be there all day, no need to go out if you dont want to. Very relaxing. Plus, room service is quicker than the service at the restaurant. Ha! We had an amazing time, despite some things. The hotel just needs to train the staff, they are kind but not efficient. I would be nice if they could pay attention to some details. Thank you!

    • Scorpions and awful food and service

      Reviewed 08 May 2019

This Hotel is terrible awful. If you like to sleep with scorpions in your room, then you may go for it ! The decoration is terrible, with bamboo on the ceiling, walls and floor made with black stones...the food is tasteless, badly cooked, and the service sucks ! My wife and I were amazed when we were told that if someone gets stung by a scorpion, there is no way that the staff may help you because they are not allowed to leave the place !!! Can you imagine ? They let you die ! The hotel is well situated, but thats all. We will never go back to this place. As we arrived, we left three hours later...
