    • Clean budget friendly hotel

Everyone was very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and had a fridge and microwave. We had a dog and there is a dog walk area near the pool. It is also very conveniently located to many dog friendly restaurants.

    • Confusion and ignorance at check-in

I checked in before 3 pm and was told to come back and my room would be ready. I asked if i needed to reserve it with the credit card and was told no. When I returned a different clerk was at the desk (I think the manager). He said he had no record of my previous check-in and charged me more than what I had agreed to. When I tried to explain the situation, i think he thought i was not telling him the truth. Then he didn't give me my Choice Privileges rewards points.

    • Cheap and nasty!

The budget end of the Choice group, but they are usually good value. The room was ok, but no tissues in the bathroom dispenser, grubby looking bath, coffee maker needed a good clean before fit for use. The wifi was totally useless - we could connect, but nothing would load. It looks like a severely underpowered service, in our room at least, because it worked ok when I took our devices into the office. Pay a few dollars more and step up to Quality Inn or similar! That's what we will do next time.

The price may have been decent but for a few dollars more I will stay somewhere else. Place run down room really smelly. Staff brought room freshener but it didn't help. The front check in was filthy.

    • Needs to allow for zero stars

Wish this allowed for negative stars. Just stayed here....first time and definitely the last time. Arrived in town after midnight and was seeking a room (honestly, $139.00 to 174.00 per night for a motel room, c'mon Logan motel owners, you are not running 5 star resorts, it's a freaking room.) Checked with the Econo Lodge and their price was two digits, so decided to give it a shot. The lady at the desk was very nice, competent and attentive, so I want to point out that I have no problem with the desk help. We got into our room, and noted that the bathroom floor was wet (apparently from attempts at flushing and the ensuing overflow) and the toilet was full of someone's last movement and packed with paper. We called the desk and the lady was very apologetic, and gave us another room. Upon entering this "new" room, we found the bed unmade (remnants of someone's last romp) food containers, bottles etc.(barf making.) We reported the condition of the room and the lady was nice enough to put us into a suite at no extra cost because of all the hassles. (Again, kudos to responsive staff.) In the suite, my wife was badly gashed in the leg from the bed frame protruding out of the side of the bed. The biggest problem with the Econo Lodge seems to be that the cleaning staff doesn't seem to give a #@%! (or maybe they do and they left it in the toilet for us to discover) and the lack of communication between them and the desk staff. The cleaning standards seem to be way low and the housekeepers just rise to the lowest level of their incompetence. How can you clean a suite, make the bed and not gash your leg each time if you really are doing a thorough job, and furthermore not report it to be repaired? Or how can you leave someone's dump in the toilet and feel you have done your job in making up the room? (As to what went on in the second room, I don't even want to know. Could have been a murder scene for all I know.) I do appreciate the staff, the upgrade and the partial refund because of the hassles. I would suggest that Econo Lodge either get some housekeepers that are more personally involved in their job, or that Econo Lodge allows you to clean your own room and stay for a reduced rate or even free. The alternative is to watch your business shrink through attrition and honest reviews. 1
