Just returned from a family holiday with 2 adults and 3 children. There were lots of good points about this place. The location is a little bit out of the old town (15 min walk) and it is all uphill home, but you will come across hills everywhere in Albufeira where ever you stay! A lot of other guests seemed to have hired cars but we didn't, instead using taxis when we didn't want to walk. The taxis are plentiful and very reasonably priced - approx 5 to the old town, 8 to the strip and 15 to Zoomarine. Because it is a little bit out, it is more peaceful area and you have lovely views of the beach, sea and marina from the pool area. No problem getting sunbeds and access to the pools - quite a few days we were the only ones there. The apartment itself was as per the other reviews - I would call it traditional rather than dated and I loved the Portugese character of the accommodation. We had a 2 bed apartment right next to the pool bar (Apartment 5). We had one minor problem with a broken door shutter but this was fixed quickly by reception. It was very clean - the maid service was excellent. There is a hob and microwave in the apartment - no oven. We just did one taxi trip to Lidl at the beginning of the week to buy our breakfasts / lunches and ate out most evenings, so didn't miss having an oven. It is very warm at night and there is no air conditioning, so we kept the lockable shutters closed and the inner glass doors open which let in a breeze and kept the apartment cool - it was too hot at night with all the doors closed - and it was this that let the apartment down. Because Apartment 5 is right next to the pool and pool bar it is very noisy at night so avoid this apartment if you like your sleep! Our bedroom doors opened literally onto the pool bar, and we didn't mind the noise most nights as it stopped around 12pm but the last two nights it was really noisy and put us off returning there. One night a group of lads returning from a night out were yelling and jumping in the pool which woke us all up and scared the kids as the noise was so close the kids thought someone was trying to get in the apartment, and the last two nights were really noisy in the bar - the last night in particular the music and partying in the bar was still going strong at 2.20am with music and shouting and people jumping in the pool, which is OK if you are partying as well but not when we had to get up at 3.30am to get our flight!!!

My second time staying here this time away from high season for a short break with a friend. Room very, very spacious and spotless, reception friendly and helpful, housekeeping staff efficient and very pleasant. Pool area peaceful the 2 big pools make this a very large bathing area that still boasts Ana and her family serving up exceptional poolside food always with a smile. Looking forward to next time!!!

Had a lovely time at this place. My son and I stayed in a huge 2 bedroomed apartment with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The pool area was immaculate and felt as if you had the place to yourself as so quiet. Staff very friendly and always willing to help. The only downside was that the weather could have been a bit warmer!

Lovely big apartment. Very clean. 3 pools, had the pool to ourselves one day. Kitchen well equipped with microwave, 2 hobs, toaster and kettle. We only ate breakfast so didn't use them much. No air con however we found no issue with the temperature. Kept blinds and shutters closed during day and opened doors, not shutters, at night. Very quiet location, situated up a steep hill from the old town. 15 min walk down into heart of old town. Coming up was a climb the whole way but got easier as the week progressed. Go out of the complex towards the road beside pool, head down hill towards a set of steps which take you to dolphin roundabout. Down to traffic lights, turn right walk down to main junction, turn left and keep walking downhill into town. Wi-Fi only at pool area. Pool bar wasn't always open, though it was end if season and limited selection due to that. Ana helpful when we needed anything. Bela exceptionally helpful answering any questions we asked about area or complex. 20 deposit for lock and key for safe. Returned at end of stay. Can't fault much, property very clean, not modern but that gave it some quirky touches. Out of reception turn left then left again takes you to supermarket, cafe, restaurant (O'Lemes) and right turn takes you to Mamma Mia 2. Ate in all 3 places, all within 5 mins walk. Would definetly return.

My only issue is the beds. They are rock hard! We had to get the air bed from the car to put on top. So a really bad nights sleep. The apartment was lovely though,It had everything. It had an old warm cottage feel, with all mod cons.Kitchen was well equipped with everything. Patio doors leading on to the lawn and by the pools. My 4 year doesn't like swimming but he loved the toddler pool and splashed around for hours. My husband and 4 other sons had fun in the other pools. I just want to say a huge thankyou to Anna. She was fantastic! Running the bar, doing the food and any other jobs that needed doing. Thankyou Anna!
