    • Unsatisfactory customer service from the Resort GM

      Reviewed 11 September 2019

I needed to express my unsatisfactory experience from Resort GM. I had experienced such an unprofessional attitude from him. We have a large group of 18-20 most from NYC booked a Sunday brunch, as a local host and it's our first time dining there I wanted to make sure the experience would be great all! I found an email on the website and wrote to them and hoping they could accommodate a large group like us for a separate corner area or a room. My email quickly got responded, and I noticed it was from a GM. In his reply had indicated that it is impossible for them to do that he would even have to put us in separate tables, plus in his words if we do not confirm on the day before they will cancel our reservation!! As a customer coming with a large group I am quite shocked how unprofessional the GM is dealing with customers. I wrote back to respond to his email expressing it's unfortunate that he couldn't accommodate us and explained that if our group likes what we see we may be coming back next year. He wrote his second email back to me, in his own words" Dear Mr. Han I don't think you followed my email...". At this point all alerts went up and it's an indication that this Resort is not run by professional and experienced staff. Customers first should be always the moto, as I did not make any unreasonable request being a new customer and certainly don't believe a GM should be bulling their customer. We have not visited, but made reservation now we have DOUBT for their service.

    • Beautiful Location, but Dated Property

      Reviewed 08 September 2019

We were here for a wedding. We stayed in the main lodge in a Regular Queen Room. Although the room was spacious, and fairly clean, it is very dated. It would be nice to see some remodeling and updating. The location is quiet and lovely, just across the road from the lake. The staff were friendly and helpful and they throw a very nice wedding here!

    • Georgeous Location!!

      Reviewed 05 September 2019

We were here recently for a wedding, and the staff did a fabulous job in all areas. We stayed in a two-bedroom cabin, which was dated, but very clean, spacious, and was steps away from any activity you desired. We did not come here to spend a lot of time in the cabin, so sleeping in the air-conditioned room was very pleasant. The full kitchen, dining area and large living room were a treat!! This was the perfect spot for the wedding, as the ceremony, reception. dinner, dance, fire pit for s'mores was all centrally located. What an EPIC party !!!

    • Fabulous visit!

We just visited this quaint resort for a family wedding. It was a beautiful location and the food was spectacular- best wedding food Ive had in a long time. The Sunday brunch was amazing as well. We stayed in a one bedroom cabin (353). We had a view of the lake and it was quiet and peaceful. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the fire pit after the wedding and even made smores. I would definitely stay here again. The food and ambiance were perfect for us. I highly recommend for weddings!

The good news is that the hotel is well-located; it's in a convenient spot, but far enough away from the touristy "village" of Lake George. The beach is small, but a very nice and quiet spot to take a dip in the lake. We were plagued by biting black flies, but that is probably unavoidable in mid-August. The staff (both desk and restaurant) was very friendly and helpful, and the one meal we had in the restaurant was good. The bad: The professional photos of the building's exterior from the road make it look really nice, but once you get past that particular vantage point and back toward the cabins, it's definitely more dated and not at all charming. Our room, while clean enough, was very, very dated and musty. From other travelers' photos, I can see that all the rooms are different, so I can only speak to the 2-bedroom shared-porch room we stayed in. There was no air flow in the bedrooms, as they were situated between the living area and the bathrooms, with no windows or ventilation of their own. Not pleasant. The bathrooms seemed clean enough for what they were, but really need an update with new tile/grout to replace the 70s-era tile/grout. The continental breakfast was not good at all. We paid a lot to stay here, and in our case, I just don't think it was a good value for the money.
