We highly recommend the beautiful bar in the hotel. Nice view on the lake, great opportunity to have a sundowner at the end of a beach day. If it becomes too warm, just choose the seats facing the other site and observe the street life of Crete. Super friendly personnel and good drinks!

If you are looking for a convenient place to stay where you can deal with your own catering arrangements, this is an ideal hotel. Located on the main shopping street in Agios Nikolaos, this is a friendly hotel that is an ideal base for everything to see around the town. The hotel is close to the marina, overlooks the lake and is a short walk to either the more touristic spots along the water or the towns other activities slightly further in. There are plenty of restaurants nearby so you won't go hungry, even in the off season. The room is a decent space, nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. One small thing we noticed is that the noise from the corridors tends to echo quite easily, but this was a minor thing.

i rented a double room on the lake sidewith my husband at 22/3. The room was great , amzing view right at the lake Voulismeni of Agios Nikolaos. The hotel is located right at the city center witch makes it very easy to move around. Although the only problem we had was with the night shift receptionist that was rude when he was recomending us places to eat , he had a style like he didnt care at all . His appearence was similar also tattoos on his head and neck ( we dont mind about tattoos but adding that to his extremly rude behaviour). All the other receptionists and staff we encounterd with was very polite and helpfull especialy the man that was there at the morning that we checked-in . In conclusion the room i had with my husband was great and the location of the hotel we even made a reservation to come again on the summer for a couple of days , but i think is a shame for the hotel and the people working there to be typified just for one rude kid that was working there .

    • Adequate comfort and cleanliness, great location

This is the second time staying at the Du Lac - both times in the off season. I like the location and always try to get a room with a balcony overlooking the pretty little lake. The rooms are clean and comfortable and mostly quiet - although you can hear noise from the cafes and tavernas below if you leave your windows open. We were disappointed that they don't offer breakfast or even have a basic coffee/tea service in the rooms - but there are plenty of cafes and bistros close by, including one immediately beside the hotel that offers a small discount to guests. Their wifi is adequate, everything worked in the room, the beds were comfortable and the location is great (although there is no parking nearby). The front desk clerk was a bit grim and only mellowed out a bit on check out when I told him it was our 2nd visit. You won't get Cretan hospitality and charm here, but you will get a clean and adequate hotel room.

    • Comfortable, well located, excellent staff

Modestly priced hotel which is well located just off the main plaza area. It is within short walking distance to banks, shops and restaurants. The rooms are basic but very comfortable and clean. The bathroom toiletries are basic so if you are fussy about the soaps and shampoos you use, take your own. The staff were welcoming, helpful and very friendly, with excellent English language skills. There is all-day parking available within a short distance from the hotel for only Euro 3 per day. Great views from the rooms which overlook Agios Nikolaos' tidal lake. The lake view rooms also overlook the restaurant strip so I would imagine that at the height of the tourist season the noise levels would be quite high if you chose to leave you balcony door open.
