This was the 2nd time we stayed there. Very confusing signage on road says Dove Creek Lodge and near office MB Resort.. the property changed hands a couple years ago why have they not changed sign on road? Also they have next to nothing horrible furniture around pool area.. maybe pool would be used more if it was more attractive. The property has all sorts of junk lying around... we stayed in April and now September same junk lying around... We stayed 2 nites this time and one day they never cleaned our room and on checkout I mentioned it and they really didnt care just said theyd notify housekeeping... The breakfast they offer is very very minimal... the breads were all stale... not sure we care to stay there anymore. If they cleaned it up it could be a cute boutique hotel..... Right now it looks like they are in financial trouble...

We spent one night here we had a planed scuba diving trip for the next day. MB was a very convenient location for us. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. They are definitely an asset to MB. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room definitely has a mold problem that has been attempted to cover up with a very strong deodorizer. After returning home I couldnt get the musty smell out of my clothes with washing. If the carpets are removed and tile put on the floor and the rooms scrubbed and painted, this will be a lovely place to stay. We live in Florida and its too damp an environment for carpet. I will be anxious to see what is done when the renovations are complete.

We stayed here on our 30th Anniversary. We were a little concerned that it might not live up to our expectations but we were delighted as soon as we entered our room! A small hotel on the Atlantic,it was exactly what I had hoped it would be. I was hesitant to write this review because I don't want to have this place hard to book next time we go! But this hidden little gem is perfect and I highly recommend it!

We have stayed here numerous times and have always enjoyed it. The grounds and the rooms need some work. Our room was very quiet, but had a very strong smell when we checked in from what seemed like a cleaning agent. It lingered even after we opened the sliding glass door and tried to air it out. I couldn't believe the condition of the dock where they keep the kayaks for guest use. Very dangerous looking. Tried several times to get ice from the machine, but it was empty.

    • It was good for what we paid

The hotel is in the midst of a remodel. I should say this first. They used to be Dove Creek Lodge. They are remodeling and changing over to MB Resort. Our room was ok. The bed was comfortable, the view was nice. The linens and towels were clean. The bathroom needs to be redone. There was obvious black mold on the tiles in the shower and in the caulking and grout. The tile floor actually kept moving and lifting under our feet when we walked on it. This is dangerous. There was also rust in the light fixtures on the ceiling. The bathroom is not air conditioned, and gets very steamy even with the fan running. We found the wifi to not be very fast either. We did go downstairs for the free breakfast one day. Waffles, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea. You serve yourself. The pool was clean, but very warm. Then again, its Key Largo. A big plus was Snapper's restaurant right downstairs. You can ask the front desk about 10% off there for staying at the hotel. We thought the hotel was good for what we paid, we will try another place next time. Thank you!
