Lovely staff, good location

Derwent House has a homely, colourful atmosphere and is in a convenient location. Lovely and extensive breakfast, great coffee and many other hospitable extras such as excellent homemade cakes. The staff are all wonderful, led by Luca, they are helpful and kindly and it was a pleasure to be welcomed back in the evening by the charming Benoit with a glass of liqueur and an interesting conversation about world politics and his story of how he arrived in South Africa! An added bonus is a swimming pool...also many interesting books and authentic music played in the bedroom. All in all a great place to stay.

We stayed at Derwent House for four days and had a wonderful stay. The location is fantastic, just a couple of minutes' walk from Kloof St with all its restaurants, Ubers are only a few minutes away and if you have a car they have a few secure parking spaces as well. The room had everything we needed, with funky decor and a nice view of Table Mountain too, however the best thing about the hotel was the superb staff who just did their utmost to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Their recommendations of sights and restaurants were very helpful and the glass of Amarula or port upon returning home was the icing on the cake!

Amazing place and great service. I just want to recommend anyone to book and stay at this lovely boutique hotel. It's near the mountains the view is amazing and also its near the central CBD. I love it

I cannot thank the outstanding staff enough.....a superb group of young professionals who were always there to help...the hotel helped to arrange a tour of cape point and an excellent wine tour. We had several exceptional recommendations for restaurants close by that we really enjoyed and added to our adventure.... We are already planning a trip back to see you in 2021....many thanks again...bravo Derwent house!

Their staff was exceptionally friendly and definetely provided great, awesome, service!!! from the security guard to the manager of the hotel Future Ndlovu!! the owners, the cooks, the reception personel, all of them, amazing 5 star service!! They booked for us the pick up from the airport and a driver for the day to take us to the wine country...jusr wonderful people, amazing, knowledgeable service, nothing to be desire, seriously. Breakfast at hotel was super good but sometimes slow. I will recommend this hotel to anybody who is looking for a small boutique hotel, with excellent location, excellent service, beautiful views of Table Mountain!!
