      This is entertaining having all those tables outside, queuing for food. But this is far to expensive even if if you can eat as much as you can. Food is less than average but the location is great. It works from 6 to 8 and they stop serving food at 8 sharp. Wine is to be added. Is included bear only. We had a wonderful time but we would not recommend this place for sure.

      Two friends and I just went for lunch to celebrate a birthday. The food and of course the view were superb. We each had a salad. On the salads you can get a supplement of chicken, salmon or shrimp for a reasonable extra fee. Those extras are very large. So we shared one piece of grilled salmon on all three of our salads. Salads were wonderful and different from previous summers. The view is as superb as ever. Take advantage of dining on the terrace before the hotel and restaurant close for renovations sometime in the fall. Dessert menu is very fine also.

      Wonderful delicious and varied menu. Every dish is delicious but I recommend the duck, the chicken, the veal chop and the striped bass. Desserts are so good too. And did I mention the views?! Gorgeous.

      Each year we come back to the Pridwin in hopes there will be a fresh new menu or at least one or two new items to choose from on the menu. But for the past 3+ years, the lunch and dinner menu has been the same, lacking any creativity for this waterfront restaurant. Dessert seems to be the standard "restaurant-chain" choices - not what it was in the past where every dessert was homemade, delicious & unique (like the Banoffee Pie - it was amazing!) Prix Fixe menu used to be good when it was offered. Cookouts on Wednesdays are nice with many options. Dessert choices need updating. As a guest of the hotel, their Buffet Breakfast has been getting skimpier with each passing year. Less fresh fruit choices, carb overload with no taste with lack of protein choices. And it was a treasure hunt finding sugar for our coffee. Things that used to be made fresh, (OJ, French Toast, Crepes (missing from the menu past few years) seems to be from big-box/ warehouse supplier. Service is standard considering the yearly turnover with staff.

      first the lipstick: There are many nicer views on a summer's evening than the sunset views across the Peconic Bay from the second story porch at the Pridwin Hotel. Quiet enough for good conversation, idyllic enough for couples to take photographs with the bay and sunset in the backdrop. now the pig: If this were a bar-b-q place, the mere mention of pig would lead you to believe this would be a stunning review. If's not, and it's not, however. Service was acceptable for a place that hires summer help mostly from the UK, and re- staffs every summer. The meals have such obvious defects, that either the owners are beating down the chef to lower food costs or eliminate waste. Three meals: 1) Salmon entre - a healthy portion of salmon prepared nicely 2) Striped bass entre, at $38, with a portion of bass no more than 3 ounces. When compared to the salmon, which was triple the size, it was clear the restaurant is stretching the salmon and less concerned about the portion of farm raised salmon that wholesales at $6 or less per lb. You wonder what the chef was thinking when he prepares two fish meals at the same time, priced differently, where the portions of fish are so dramatically different. 3) Lobster roll entre - at $42, a generous sized lobster roll should be expected, as this is about as expensive as anywhere on the east end. It wasn't a tiny portion, however but served on a pretzel roll so stale, it evoked thoughts of a 1960s Catskills restaurant meal when those businesses were failing so badly, they would serve 3 day old rolls at dinner to save costs. The portion of french fries served with the meal were artfully served in a Tom Thumb sized fryer basket, but even a Lilliputian guest would laugh at the size of a portion of potatoes that would be dwarfed by fries off the dollar menu at McDonalds. This restaurant could be so much more with a little attention to detail. They would be hard pressed to charge more, but then again, at least if they delivered on quality and portions there wouldn't be complaints. Go to Rams Head, Vine Street, or any number of places for a better meals. If you must visit here, come on Wednesdays for the cookout.
