    • Dirty, shabby RIP off in beautiful location

We stopped here so we could have an early start at Neuschwanstein castle the next morning. I can honestly say it is the worst place I have ever stayed. It was dirty(clumps of dust in the corners, visible dust on the headboard, even cobwebs under the bench seating in the breakfast room) and clearly no pride is taken in trying to make any guests stay enjoyable. After check in ( 6pm) no staff were available as on Monday night the 'restaurant' is closed. There were no evacuation procedures for fire in the room, only a sign saying use of kettles is prohibited. There were no refreshments in the room or available ,even a vending machine. The beds were lumpy and sheets had holes in them, the beds were not even made properly. The towels had seen better days. The furniture was shabby, carpets were stained and the clearly home made curtains hadn't been hung properly or made to match. There were several holes in the floor on the first floor landing. On the stairs lamps were placed in alcoves lined with tin foil which looked like it had been done by a 5 year old- awful. Had I paid half the price I would have been unhappy but at over 100 I was furious. This place is disgraceful and it was the last stop on our lovely Germany tour , it left a sour taste. I always try to find something positive but the only thing I can say is that the bathroom extractor fan seemed quite efficient. It should be shut down, while it upgrades. Do not stay here.

The furniture in the rooms looks to old. I found empty bottle of beer in the balcony. The food in the breakfast was ok but a few choice. Ventilation in the bathroom don't stop working - annoying . For 70 euro per night is not enough.

We spent three nights at this hotel. It's a great location to use for visiting the sights in southern Germany. The hotel doesn't have an elevator so it was very hard to drag 2 heavy suitcases up three floors. They don't have anyone to help carry suitcases. The room as no AC or fans. Unfortunately it was quite warm during our visit. We opened the windows for some fresh air. This let mosquitoes into our room which was ANNOYING. The rooms were average at best. They had a small breakfast which was adequate. They have an Italian restaurant which is open in the evenings which was very good. While the price was right, we would not stay here again.

We arrived 10mins earlier which we had already arranged for late check in at 9pm. No one bother us when check in and the staff looks clueless to find our booking, in fact she was looking at wrong date. No wifi available as they told us the router is broken. Same on next day when we ask for hot water during breakfast, was told the boiler is broken. How could a hotel has no hot water while they are still serving hot tea to guest for breakfast? The bread and pastries ran out quickly when we headed to breakfast 10mins after it get started, no top up after that. There is no lift in the hotel so we have to carry all our baggages to room at level 3. Room is pretty cozy and it is really close proximity to Schloss Neuschwanstein. We get 1euro off for castle entrance ticket with the voucher given by hotel. Overall, average stay to the price we paid for but definitely will not be back again.

    • Ok for overnight but wouldn't stay any longer

We stayed here overnight due to its close proximity to the Schloss Neuschwanstein as we didn't want a long drive in the morning to reach the castle. Due to a long drive down to the hotel we were delayed and arrived just before 10pm. Knowing we would be later that planned we had already called ahead and checked whether it was possible to check-in late to which we were informed that the restaurant would take our our key and in the worst case scenario, a night porter would be available. Knowing it was late but needing something to eat, whilst checking in we asked if there was anywhere nearby to grab some food and to our dismay were practically laughed at and told good luck, maybe try Fssen (the next town along). So its not a great town to arrive in late as there is nowhere you can easily get anything to eat. We also asked about the Wifi and were just told that it was broken. As a key selling point of the hotel, this was very disappointing. The room was perfectly comfortable but very dated in terms of decor and could use a refresh. This was also evident in the stairwell of the hotel where they had decided to use tin foil to decorate a light alcove. Breakfast was included in our booking but was quite a let down. We arrived 10 minutes after breakfast started for the morning and saw that the first table of guests had a basket of croissants and pastries. We checked the buffet but there were none there. After checking a couple more times to see if they had been refreshed at all, we asked if there were any more and were told they had run out. This is ridiculous when they can only supply the first table of the day with them. A similar situation happened with the orange juice. Also for us brits, there is no English Breakfast (or similar) tea available. They had a wide selection of teas but no English Breakfast. If we were to travel to the area again we would recommend staying in nearby Fssen. It is only 5-10 minutes away and has much more in terms of food and activity in the evenings. Overall, the hotel was in lovely area with views of the mountains and a quaint town. It is also excellent for proximity to the Schloss Neuschwanstein. However during our trip we stayed in 6 hotels and this was our most expensive, yet the one that we were most disappointed by and had the lowest quality of amenities.
