As you walk in this hotel has class and style the lady on the desk was so helpful as I ask her about the hotel I had a coffee and told the water Mark I would be back for lunch I came back at 1pm. He sat me down I had a wonderful well cooked and presented meal well done the kitchen and I must say Marks service was excellent some nice wine to There were too English guests there having lunch. Staying at the hotel. They showed me round. And I must say won me over big time. I can no wait to go back. 22 Aug. John osborne.

Our holiday at hotel Das Rieser was irreparably damaged by the failure of the hotel to provide the correct room on arrival. The problem was made worse by 3 separate actions of the staff: 1. When we told reception we had not been given the room we booked, the room they confirmed and re-confirmed a week before we arrived, she responded by telling us we had been given the room we booked. Untrue. We had to show the photographs they had earlier sent us of the room before Reception agreed we had been given the wrong room. 2. The receptionist invited us to go and have a coffee while she sorted out the problem. Over an hour later, when we had heard nothing further, we returned to Reception only to find she had done nothing while we had been left waiting. 3. Reception maintained they had made a mistake in allocating us the wrong room, something we cannot and do not believe. The automated reservation system protects against that happening without deliberate intervention. We believe we had been deliberately downgraded to make way for somebody else getting the room for which we had a confirmed reservation. Management hoped or believed we wouldn't notice and would pay the higher room rate and be happy with the lesser room. We view this as highly unethical behaviour, behaviour which greatly impacted on our enjoyment of our stay at Das Rieser. We were eventually given the correct room for 5 nights of our seven night stay and a small reduction in price. Poor compensation for the level of disruption. It was also interesting to note that the owners made no attempt to speak to us about the problem. We had to track them down to make our feelings known. The hotel, the gardens and the facilities are indeed very nice. Away from Reception and Senior Management we found the staff to be helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was top class and dinners were also very good. The hotel policy of charging for tap water is annoying.

Just back from a lovely stay at the Rieser. Staff were great and really went out of their way to help. The Rieser is a really well run hotel and it goes to show how well family run hotels can work - the family was noticeably around and in charge and they did a really good job and likewise their team. The breakfasts were amazing and couldnt be bettered in even more expensive establishments. Dinners were pretty good, the English translations on the daily menu sheet certainly raised a smile! A very good wine list with good Austrian and Italian wines. Very good cheeseboard with a book detailing the cheeses. I had a super room facing south and I could see the lake from my bedroom window as well as the mountain. Decor was very traditionally Tirolean. I would definitely return. What didnt I like - the cakes on the cake buffet werent too hot (and no strudel or Sacher torte), the charge for tap water (which seems to happen in all Pertisau hotels) and although the service when picked up from Jenbach was slick, you were just dropped off at the station on the way back. Thank you to all.

We only ate lunch here but would recommend the restaurant. We arrived just before the kitchen closed to be greeted in German. The waiter/s on realising this quickly got is an English menu and ordering late wasn't an issue. The waiter, we identified was Gary, is a fluent English and German speaking Romanian who couldn't be more helpful of he tried with a wonderful twist of humour. Lovely roast beef dinner washed down with a few thunder showers and help to find the bis stop home was 'top of the day'.

Combine a terrific location in the Austrian Alps,a short stroll to the Aachensee or the Karwendel gondola, with a very well-outfitted hotel, an excellent spa, outstanding breakfasts and suppers, and a welcoming and helpful staff, and you have some idea why my wife and I have visited Das Reiser for week-long stays during each of the past three summers. The views from all rooms with balconies are magnificent, and the opportunities for daily hikes of great variety are all one could wish for, after which one can choose to swim in the spring-fed pond at the hotel grounds (my favorite), its heated indoor-outdoor pool, or in the Aachensee itself. Available activities (some with modest costs) also include tennis and golf, and boat trips on the Aachensee, so there is sure to be something for guests of all ages and interests, as one can see from the multi-generational families that make up the guests at Das Rieser. Das Rieser, Pertisau and the Aachensee have become our standard for all alpine hiking holidays.
