Great Family HotelReviewed
This was our second stay at this lovely family run Austrian style hotel. The staff are outstanding and provide wonderful friendly service. The location and facilities of the hotel are great and I highly recommend it.Paul L
Family run hotel. Great location. Very new and modern spa and wellness area on the top floor. Very clean and comfortable. Rooms are clean, but ours was very warm and stuffy. We booked with breakfast and dinner. Food was very tasty. Improvement: more space to hang up wet clothes. Also, had a pedicure. This was not worth the money. Overpriced for the type of service. Definitely have had much better cosmetic / pedicures. The massage was okay.Angela_family_vaca
This is a typically family hotel in Austria. You feel welcome all the time long and there is so much to do there. Rooms are really nice, food is amazing, pools and spa are great. If you like sports, many walking or biking possibility. In one word I can only recommend.354huguess
Luxurious Hotel with fantastic food and great spaReviewed
Beautifully presented hotel in a quiet lakeside village. We had one of the new rooms which was extremely clean and very spacious with seating area, balcony and large bathroom. It was very quiet and warm. The two spas were extremely good - a basement spa with indoor and outdoor warm pool with several steam rooms and rest areas and a luxurious rooftop spa which had several saunas, a huge jacuzzi and an infinity pool plus water beds and rest areas with fantastic views. It had the added benefit of being an adults only area. The food was just fantastic - a 4 course meal with several choices every evening with a buffet salad between courses and a huge cheeseboard after, a buffet breakfast with a large array of food including hot breakfast and a buffet lunch/tea with a hot meal, soup, salads and cakes - there was no need to go elsewhere to eat. On one evening they had a gala dinner with 7 courses with an Austrian live band which was great fun and again the food was excellent. One evening we upgraded to the gourmet meal which you need to book in advance as it is only served in a separate area for 12 people. They chef who is one of the family daughters has one several awards and the menu was very special as was the ambiance and table decorations. The service was very good. Only slight niggles were that the sheet on the bed was nylon which was very hot and quite unpleasant to sleep on and the fact that we booked a package with two spa sessions which we presumed we could arrange when we arrived. On arrival we found that we had been allocated two sessions with no choice of treatment or time The times were both at lunchtime - we managed the first by rushing back from our ski lesson but on the second day we wanted to go off for the day so had to cancel and were not offered another time - it seems they were just offering these treatments as part of the package to fill up the slots when no-one else would want to go and we were disappointed we couldn't have the second session. One thing to point out is that you do need to speak German - hardly any of the staff speak more than a few words of English and we were the only English people at the hotel and it seemed in the village as a whole - it is very much a resort for German-speakers and we gave up on our ski lessons because of the language barrierJudith L
The Most Wholesome Holiday EverReviewed
WHAT a fantastic find this hotel was... part of me wants to feel selfish and not recommend this place to too many people, but I equally want to make certain that the family Rieser enjoys all the success they truly deserve. We stayed here the week of 14th January for a family holiday. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every sense - the warm hospitality, the quality of the food (could easily rival a Michelin starred restaurant), the rooms, the hotel amenities including the state-of-the-art spa, etc. - I could go on for hours. Price/quality wise this hotel is truly the best in its category, and I can wholeheartedly say that this was one of the best holidays we have ever had, and we are picky travellers (usually tend to stay at top 5* resorts such as the Four Seasons and the Oberoi). We will be back!Matthias P
