I stayed 2 nights there comfortably. Nice staffs work there. Good breakfast. I arrived the hotel around 11 am, but the staff allowed me to enter the room kindly. I enjoyed Budapest. I expected spa was excellent.

I really love this hotel, it was my 2nd time staying there. It is very close to the walk street and the views at night are just spectacular. Also the hot mineral baths at the attached spa are a MUST do. I am only giving it a 4 star as the place is in need of some refurbishment, it is not bad, but it is time. The history of it is just wonderful, they should never change the public rooms. The rooms need the refurbishing so that is why I marked them lower.

ReviewedThere are now newer, and perhaps fancier places to stay in Budapest. But there is no location that oozes charm, history, and the very best of Hungarian hospitality than the Hotel Gellert. And that does not even take into account the hotel's place along the Danube and the ease by which to access it via public transportation.

ReviewedI do not think you get the same grandiose feeling in any other hotel in Bdp. That is why we come bach again and again. The atmosfere in the lobby, the spacy rooms (restorong is going on) and a Great breakfast do it. Putting the bathrobe on and enjoing a Day in the spa is a rest for ones soul. Can only be recommended.

The rooms need better maintenance. Cleanliness could be better, since the old rooms are full of stains. No AC made sleeping very though in Budapest's 33/34 degrees. The staff is polite and the breakfast was very good.
