I am ashamed it has taken me so long to write this review. Months after our trip to India, I still daydream about Damodra. I am so, so, so glad we did two nights. Many people only do 1 night, but it is not enough. The desert is incredibly beautiful and what better way to experience than in such a comfortable setting. The beds are true king size and are memory foam. Incredibly comfortable with buttery soft linens. The hot water does take a bit to get going. Since you are in the desert, if you do wait it out, make sure your partner is ready to hop in right behind you as not to keep the water running too long. The a/c units in the rooms blow VERY cold. I cannot imagine there is a better sunset camel ride experience or evening Rajasthan show available anywhere. We watched the show two nights and there was just enough variation to continue to amaze. The Indian guests even noted it was the best Rajasthani show they had ever seen. Yes there is fast music, dancing, and fire, but the highlight is honestly the puppet show. Don't be afraid to try the instruments and to stand up and dance at the end. Beware of food...as in, there will be plenty! During the show, a plethora of snacks are served and then there is a full dinner with dessert after the show. The stargazing and animal viewing, including peacocks is amazing. The resident dogs are also friendly as can be. I could have wasted away my whole life on the rooftop as long as someone continued to bring me tea :)

Fantastic stay. The location is away from the main roads so is nice and quiet. We were met at the camp, provided with masala tea and had a look around. Great entertainment, desert drive and camel trek. The team were lovely .. oh, the food .. awesome!! :) .. A real great experience

We stayed at Damodra Desert camp for two nights, and I wish we could have stayed longer! We got in late on train due to a canceled flight and had a driver take us at about 4 am, driving in this late help solidify just how out there the camp is, he turned off a road and was driving into the desert based on certain indicators to show where the camp was. When we arrived, we found our beautiful camp. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in with tons of options for blankets. We were given opportunity to either explore the desert that day or have a tour through the city. We chose the desert and that was truly exceptional seeing a deserted town and new born camel and then just relaxing. All of the meals, were delicious. The sunset ride and sand boarding was fun. The night time fire and music/dancing and entertainment was magical. Not to mention the peacocks that are just all over the camp! I would definitely recommend this camp, and hope to return!

I stayed in this place with my family for 1 night, and had a wonderful experience. Tent was very clean and beautiful. All staff members are very polite and helpful. They took us to great camel safari, spent sunset in the sand dunes and enjoyed cultural evening show.

As part of our 43 day India holiday booked by Hidden Treasures of India, we spent a wonderful day on a Camel Safari and ended up at Damodra Desert Camp around 7:30. Quickly shown to our clean and comfortable tent #5 out of 10. We freshened up, enjoyed their local singing cultural show and enjoyed a local cuisine dinner... and a couple drinks. Great place with welcoming hosts to finish a super day. Woken up early by the call of a peacock, had coffee, fresh fruit and offered other items by the staff. Reluctantly checked out to continue our adventure but enjoyed the experience,
