We stayed here on Aug 29th. I have stayed in Marriotts before and this one was no exception. Check in was quick, room was clean, beds were wonderful and the location was superb. We had a great view of the water and the price was reasonable. Walking distance to the wharf, farmers market, restaurants and breweries. Would highly recommend.

My son was traveling with some friends and somehow, after starting out in their car, decided to make Halifax their destination. Without a place to stay, they called me for assistance. A quick call to Courtyard by marriot and they were in business, with top notch lodging, and a staff making sure I looked good I front of my son and his friends. Great job and thank you! They stayed for a few nights

    • Loved the Hotel and Area

My husband and I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Halifax from June 30-July 3. We loved the location of the hotel, right across the street from the harbour front. Also close to walk to Argyle Street, several restaurant choices. We also walked to the Citadel. Walking towards Argyle and beyond is all up hill, going towards the harbour front is more level for easier walking. The harbour front also has many options for eating, from food vending trucks, pub style restaurants to something higher end, many with outdoor patio's. There are gift shops, an indoor market as well as Pier 21 and Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. It is just a lovely area to walk or sit, as there are many spots provided to sit and enjoy the goings on. Right next door to the hotel is the Alexander Keith's building where you can take a brewery tour, restaurant options there too. The hotel itself had lovely options for outdoor seating, the public terrace which overlooks the harbour front, on the 8th floor, as well as the Zen Garden patio. The hotel has 8 floors, we were in room 816, quite large and had a private balcony. Many guest were on the public terrace for July 1st fireworks, we could see the fireworks from our balcony, though we believe for optimal viewing it is better to be right along the harbour front. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't the nicest so we could not use our private balcony, which did have a bistro set on it. If we were able to use our private balcony we would have asked staff to clean up what they could, as pigeons seemed to like the area too. I understand they, staff, cannot be out there cleaning all of the time, but it was part of our room which we were paying for. There was a nice sitting area in the lobby as well, and a bistro, we ordered a few things from the bistro but ate in our room. We enjoyed ordering to our room in the morning a pot of fresh hot coffee, rather than the one cup coffee provided in our room, but that was our choice. Our room was very quiet, in fact there were many people on the public terrace for the fireworks, who would have had to pass our room to access the terrace, we didn't hear anything from the hallway. Our room was clean, and cleaned everyday, comfortable bed. The grounds of the hotel are very pretty with flowers and an outdoor patio. Staff were friendly and acknowledged us whenever they saw us. We used valet parking, which was convenient, we only took our vehicle out once, since the area was busy with July 1st activities, but valet was prompt to get our vehicle. We would definitely stay at the hotel again, but probably would request room 817, we think the view would be a bit better.

Well positioned hotel to access boardwalk, restaurants, museums, gardens etc. We had a problem when we checked in but the problem was resolved and made right. Thank you Garrett. All staff friendly and efficient. Comfortable hotel with very nice rooms. Only issue is some street/city noise, but have to expect when in the heart of any city.
