    • Great Food

      Reviewed 05 June 2019

First time to California and this is the first restaurant we tried. The food was really good. Started out with chips, salsa and homemade bean dip. It was very good! Had the taco burrito for my meal with rice and guacamole. Very tasty. Would definitely go back if ever in the area again.

    • Cinco de Mayo Lunch

There is an obscure law in Alta California that you must have Mexican food on Cinco de Mayo. So for lunch I had Albondigas soup, followed with Chili Verde with beans and rice to eat and a margarita to drink, and finished up with a Flan. Everything was really good, although the Chili was a little salty for my taste. The people were all very nice, both servers and guests. It's a holiday after all!

    • Run of the mill Americanized Mexican eatery

      Reviewed 11 February 2019

Ill place Yolandas in the category of mediocre mainstream Americanized Mexican eateries. We had dinner here with a group of about 13 folks on a Saturday evening. Service for the most part was average though at the end of the evening I was given my check and then waited, and waited, and waited some more for someone to actually come and get my credit card for processing even though I slapped down my card a split second on top of the bill after the waiter placed it on the table. That was annoying. Food is hardly noteworthy. I had the vegetable fajita option. As I wasnt looking for a super large or heavy calorie meal, this worked. It was ok. And of course, as is common fare, crunchy chips and salsa on the table. Another point though we were in the back room and it was so unbelievably loud really difficult to hear others or carry a conversation. Only ended up here because it is where the party for the evening was planned. On my own, wont be returning. It does seem fairly popular, the place was full, and when I was leaving, a wait to get inside. Different strokes for different folks. Not my idea of good Mexican food. Marias continues to be perhaps the best quality option in Simi, and I would even venture toward one of several smallish strip mall Mexican places we have in Simi for a better meal.

    • Meh Mexican

      Reviewed 21 November 2018

While on our way to LAX we decided to stop for dinner. Yolandas had pretty good reviews and when we arrived the place was hoppin. We were excited to have good mexican food. After a wait of 20 minutes we were seated. . At a table near the server station. No big deal. Restaurant has a salsa bar with several choices. Most of the salsa varied in temperature, but not in flavor. The ice tea tasted just like water. The food was very bland, with little to no flavor and very commercial. My tacos had weirdly cut tomatoes that were unripe. The chips were not fresh. My entire group was disappointed. If you like bland, unexciting mexican food, this is your place.

    • Gift Certificates are good!

Cleaning out paperwork and I find a 2013 Gift Certificate to this restaurant. My husband and I decide to go for a little mini-date and when we showed the GC to the hostess, she exclaimed she hadn't seen one of them in a long time, but it was still good! YAAAS! Had a margarita, carne asada burrito and gucamole to share and we were good for the evening. Marco, our waiter, was awesome.....very attentive without being intrusive. Great place to come in Simi!
