We stayed middle of June for 2 weeks family of 5. Id like to say that everything was fantastic and I couldnt fault it because overall we did enjoy it and we didnt want to come home but it did have its negatives so here goes my very honest review. THE WATER PARK AND POOLS: The best thing about the hotel, Amazing! Couldnt say a bad word about it. The childrens part is amazing and absolutely perfect for all ages. The adult slides are good too. Never any queues for the slides. Lifeguards where always very good. Pools where very good. There was a very shallow one win a tiny fish slide, then a kids one, then a medium one for older kids, then a very deep one for adults. Just be careful with children walking round there as there was only one life guard for the first week of our holiday and it would of took them a while to get round to the other side of the deep pool if anything was to happen. Also, people say inflatables are not allowed but they are, everywhere apart from the water park but you dont need them in there anyway. THE ROOMS: Nice and spacious, clean but a bit dated, house keeping where good although sometimes they forgot things but reception where always happy to help, we where in a room facing Albir it was nice and quiet I heard a few complaints about pool view rooms saying it was too loud. WARNING: There is NO ground floor at all, even the ground floor in the outer building apartments have a couple of steps up to the door. We where in the main building on the second floor as the main building has a lift and it was easy never a queue for lift either. STAFF: Some of them look like they dont want to be there every now and again but Gaspar? And the lad who plays for Valencia? Sorry cant remember names. Where very good. Reception staff where very nice. Night time entertainers where good but some where a bit moody at times. Nico and the young lad beginning with M? The one who has a music video? Sorry really bad with names, they where both very good at all times and very interactive both with adults and children and always smiling. THE FOOD: This was the only thing that let it down. The snack bar was always very good always something for everyone. The main restaurant sometimes was good but most of the time it wasnt. The reviews about the undercooked food is very true so just be careful. My 5 year old and one year old son almost ate chicken that was purple and stone cold in the middle. Luckily I always check meat as Im paranoid anyway. The dessert section is good. There was an ice cream machine for the first 3 days and then it disappeared? The kids where not happy. The snack bar at night time is the same thing all the time and its very limited (burgers, hot dogs, crisps, biscuits, fruit) apart from one night we where treated to chips. DRINKS: Very good. A very good variety and the alcohol did not seem watered down. It was all popular brands too. The cocktails on the all inclusive are amazing you dont need to pay for one because the all inclusive one is even better. I think its similar to sex on the beach. ALBIR: There is not much in the area it is very Spanish. We struggled to find places to eat when we couldnt eat the hotel food and a lot of places do not cater for children. There isnt much life in Albir but its lovely and quiet. Thank goodness the hotel was as good as it was as we would have had to travel to Benidorm every day for something to entertain the kids. ENTERTAINMENT: There is near enough always something going on but it is very repetitive. The aqua disco is the same every day (Needs a bigger variety of dances and change them each day). The only thing that was very good was the pool/poolside games for adults with Nico, it got a lot of attention as he made it very fun. The mini disco at night time gets annoying after a while its the same and you get fed up of the songs. Again there needs to be a wider variety of party dances so that it can be changed each night. The evening entertainment was very good some nights and okay other nights. They do try and change that so that didnt seem repetitive. We had a few problems with people standing up round the stage (Adults) which meant that kids sat at tables couldnt see and we had to ask one of the staff to sort it out. One little girl not with us was very upset she didnt want to go near the front but couldnt see sat next to the stage with her family. Apart from the food the other problems are just minor and just things that Im pin point in out for the extra fussy ones haha. We would definitely come back again. Overall we had an amazing time, and we didnt want to come home.

We booked the albir gardens as a last minute holiday and after reading some reviews I have to say I was slightly apprehensive. After a early start and a cramped easyjet flight with a grumpy 20 month old on my lap I was definitely happy to get to the hotel. I had read rooms werent ready until 5pm, we arrived at 11am so wasnt looking forward to the long wait. I needn't have worried! We were greeted by Mamen and she was fabulous. She asked what time we had been travelling since and after I told her she couldn't have been more helpful. She shuffled our rooms around so we only had to wait 30 minutes after arrival!! I could not of been more grateful to her. She made sure we were happy with the swap, giving us a couple of alternatives and recomended the best room with the kids. Swift and efficient check in, access to food and drink immediately. Every hotel needs a Mamen and she made a tired stressed mummy very happy!! The hotel itself was lovely and clean. Rooms a little small for the 5 of us but plenty adequate for the price we paid. Lots of storage and the kitchen was a bonus. We had a broken shower head which was fixed within 15 minutes of notifying them, no other issues within the room. We had to pay extra for a cot, something I didnt know but may have missed reading about this with the late booking. It wasnt alot (about 35 I think for the week) and the cot was luxurious compared to those in the UK. Pools were clean and tidy, waterpark great fun. Food was nice. Kids loved the snack bar and restaurant always had something to eat for everyone. I was paranoid about checking food after some of the reviews around uncooked food but had no issues at all with this. I had a variation of meat and fish all cooked to perfection. Never a problem getting seated or queuing. There were some young football teams staying, as other reviews mention, however they were very well behaved and very respectful kids. There was plenty of space for everyone and no sunbed racing in the early hours! Supermarket across the road, very well stocked and a few other shops if you want a little stroll. We had a fabulous last minute break here and would definately return and recommend. Thankyou!

    • Great week away

Great week away via Thomas Cook (Airtours) at these apartments. Took the family for an all inclusive week. Food was above average, entertainment was varied & good for the kids. Pool & slides were just right (balanced) plenty of space to bathe, chill etc, plenty of beds. Rooms were cleaned frequent & adequate, Albir is close for bits you need, Benidorm 15 mins down the road by taxi (10 euros) I would recommend to families, the only downside was the visiting sports teams. One team would be ok to live with, but there was around 4 team that made it sometimes overwhelming.

    • Overall great time!

      Reviewed 04 July 2019

My friend and I are just home after a week here both of us with our 2 sons. Overall we had an absolute blast!!! The animation team really do work hard and Manel was a hit with our Fortnite loving kids and Nico.....I have no words lol he absolutely makes sure you have a great time!!!! All the staff we encountered were friendly enough. Boys had a great time both in the pool and the waterpark (although they did get a little bored of the waterpark and stuck to playing in the pool) the aqua Zumba/aerobics were enjoyed by everyone! The rooms were spacious enough, although my friend and I had both booked 1 bed apartments at the same time, we were given completely different rooms types. I had more of an open plan studio with just a sliding glass door that slid between toilet and shower, large vanity area but not completely separate from the rest of the room, small worktop with a fridge and kettle and then a pull out sofa bed and 2 large single beds. Completely fine I might add and the beds were super comfy! But my friends room had a completely separate full kitchen with hob and microwave plus a separate bathroom. Like I say not a major issue just a bit confused in the major differences between the rooms. I had problems with my balcony door and although I reported it at reception, I continued to have the same problem trying to close and lock it (it took a fair amount of pushing and shoving back and forth trying to get it to lock into place). We both also encountered problems with ants in the rooms but never reported it as I would imagine this would be very common anyway because of the surroundings (which are stunning btw like walking round little lush streets!) My other issue was with the food unfortunately.....don't get me wrong there was always something we could have but on quite a few occasions throughout the week we did have several dishes which we had to leave due to the food looking severely undercooked. As we were all inclusive we found that the ice cream and slushes on offer all day for the kids were fantastic!!!!! (We enjoyed a few ourselves!) Even with the food (and balcony) issues I would still 100% come back here as its just such a beautiful resort and amazing for the kids!
