    • Absolutely horrendous service

Just wanted to sit down in their garden but we weren't sure if we had to wait to be seated. Stood at the garden entrance for a minute but no waiter seemed to want to see us. Finally a young blond waiter walked past us so I tried to asks him in German if we could just sit down anywhere we liked (there were quite a few empty tables). I asked: "Kann man sich---" First, he didn't even stop or look at us. Second, before I could even finish my sentence he shouted "JA" and just rushed past. My friend and I could hardly believe our eyes and ears. All the waiter did was shouting "JA" without taking even a glance at us or even letting me finish our question. No way would I spend even a cent in such a cafe. We moved on to Cafe Landtmann, just five minutes walk. The service was 200% more professional. I am of Asian descent. I'm not sure if the waiter's horrendous behaviour was racially motivated or not (I hope not), but DON'T waste your money in such a place.

This is the closest Diglas Cafe to Vienna University. We wanted to visit the famous Studies Temple & the Viennese Schnitzel Temple, so arrived for the traditional cuisine first. Great service, nice place with more local clients than tourists ( so you know that is good and not expensive). We take shnitzel & also the local sausages with sauerkraut, also the coffe & cakes for the finale. Just Excellent !! Local food since 1875. From there we went to the pompous old university, wich grew 9 Nobel Prizes like Conrad Lorenz but...they expelled the student Albert Einstein !!!! The first cafe Diglas is open at the old center of the city, just look for "Cafe Diglas", from 1875. Great Local food.
