We visited this hotel for a We went here for a weekend away as a small family. The hotel itself was lovely and catered everything you needed. Not much bad to say, just very very hot! No A/C in rooms or fans available and its been such a warm weekend it was hard to be comfortable sleeping! The breakfast was fab and room price was reasonable! Food was nice, we had chicken curry and really enjoyed it! Although my partner had the hunters chicken which was 11 for a piece of chicken and bacon- Wasn't very impressed with this!! The older man which works here- would've been nice for him to crack a smile- he was quite rude. As for the other staff- they were lovely, especially the main women!! Would definately visit again and the location is great!

    • Sullen, frosty landlord

I visit Burry Port quite often, and was looking for somewhere to have a quiet, solo pint of local ale in a cosy environment. On arrival at the pub I immediately felt self-conscious as the only woman in there, a line of older, presumably local men at the bar all turned round, stared, didn't smile or say hello. On approaching the bar i noticed there was a local ale on tap, Gower Gold. Eager to taste this before committing to a pint, I asked the landlord if I might be able to sample it, as is customary, standard in pubs across the UK. Me: hi, can I try a little bit of the Gower Gold please? Landlord: no Me: oh, just a thimble worth? Landlord: too expensive Me: what?! Landlord: (Silence) ____ What a shame. Could be a nice place if the atmosphere was more welcoming and the landlord's attitude improved. They could also have had a lot of business from myself and my friends/family over the coming years, but I won't be going back in again and will stick to The Cornish Arms, where there is always a smile and they let your sample ales before committing!

    • Sunday roast dinner (25/02/2019)

It was such a warm sunny day, I took my 95 and 92 years respectfully young, Mam n' Dad, Sister, wife and I, out for Sunday dinner. We first popped to the beach cafe, in Llanelli for a coffee, to meet a couple of relations, then drove on to Burry Port harbour for a view of the Mariner; I then thought to head to Morrison's Llanelli for a normal Sunday dinner, but as I drove through Burry Port shopping area, I espied "The Coastal Pilot Hotel", in a side street, I duly called in to see if they could accommodate us all, Mum was in her quite large wheel chair, My dearest requires Gluten free produce, we also needed a disabled toilet, all of which was no bother for our pleasurable hosts/owners, whom also provided a ramp to assist our large wheel chair, With two Beef, two Turkey and one Pork dinner called for, with tumblers of water, wine & 1/2 pint of beer, we were served in no time. "Oh My God", when the dinners arrived I can assure one and all here, it was enough to feed at least six ravenous people, the meat and mash/roast potatoes, came first, then an endless supply of veg, mushy peas, carrots, cabbage, swede, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding, with four gravy boats, one of which was Gluten free. We all thoroughly enjoyed our dinners, we could not believe the high quality of the hot food served to us. I have been to many a restaurant so believe me, whilst I write here this is the place to go, they also do other foods, but their Sunday roast is exceptional, I cannot fault anything to do with "The Coastal Pilot Hotel", to a point, the wife and I will stay there over a weekend, the fact it is spotlessly clean everywhere. The well stocked bar at the other entrance looked very inviting as well. A big "Thank You" Mien Hosts, You are all indeed professionals, we are in AWE to your hospitality. Very Well Done.

Paid a midweek visit and had a lovely night. In the lounge was the regular quiz night but this didnt interfere in any way with the service or attention we received. Very friendly and informative staff, food lovely and a great selection of drinks, some even we had never seen before !!
