    • A pleasant surprise!!

Stayed for a night, been before 12 years ago and didnt expect too much. Really pleasantly surprised at the rooms, all recently been done in a nautical way. The restaurant and food were fine, the health club was not up to much as it is too small however the downstairs Sport Bar was a revelation. Tom the young barman was an absolute joy, so helpful and could not have done any more for us. We were there on trip down memory lane for a significant anniversary and Tom put on you tube on the Sports Bar televisions and played our tune. Give that lad a pay rise, he really deserves one!!!

Used the pool jacquissi steam/sauna today for a free trial .TAKE MY ADVISE dont bother the pool was dirty and both pool and jacqussi had a film on top of water disgusting the pool had white stuff floating ontop. The main thing that was out of order was the 5 muslim women that were allowed in fully clothed including head scarves and outdoor foot wear who went straight in the sauna then 20mins later climbed straight into the jacuzzi .None of the staff or management did nothing to stop this even after complaints..

The rooms are average but clean and tidy. The staff at the spa and reception were lovely polite and helpful. The Hot tub was great. We ate dinner in there in house restaurant. The food and service were great and at a good price. We paid for breakfast and part of our stay but was shocked to be rudely told that we had not paid for breakfast and made to feel awful and embarrassed infront of the other guests. We tried to explain that we had paid for breakfast but were shot down and told that we could have breakfast for 10 pound each. Luckily I had confirmation on my phone that our booking did indeed include breakfast. The rude lady then insisted on double checking it infront of the other guests even though a polite member of staff on reception had checked it in private and called through to her that we had paid. The actual breakfast was great the fresh poached egg was brilliant and all the other food was top notch. It's a shame this rude lady ruined the morning cause everything else was Excellent.

    • Superb value for

My wife and I just stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on a Groupon break including dinner allowance of 30 on the first night and breakfast both days. The food we ate was really nice . The staff are really friendly, cheerful, polite and courteous and informative. The location of the hotel is great too, just off M62 and not far from Leeds, Huddersfield, Halifax or Bradford but close to lovely countryside. Holmfirth was lovely and we walked around Digley reservoir which was beautiful. For the price we paid which included the health club too we thought it was excellent value for . We will definitely return.
