The castle is beautiful and the tower room offers a great 360 view of the Tuscan landscape. Close to Siena, and a great place to stay. The host was really friendly and gave us the best tips and history.

We stayed for 2 nights in the Castle. The owner is super! The views from our room were outstanding. This is a really neat place to stay. The breakfast was great as well. Very accomodating and kind. If we every go back to this part of Italy, we would definitely stay here again.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would - my husband traveled to Italy for two weeks and go the opportunity to stay in this amazing castle for a few days out of our trip. It was by far one of our favorites :) The owner of this establishment puts so much thought into every detail of your stay, and provides a comfortable, and unforgettable stay. We will be back the next chance we get!

My family of 4 stayed here for five nights in July and we loved every moment of our stay. We have two boys, ages 10 and 13, and we stayed in the Blue Room. The pictures are not doctored - this place is even more beautiful in person and the views are some of the best I have ever seen. Especially the views from our bathroom window and from the Tower. This is a true bed and breakfast experience, each morning the wonderful Rosita greeted us with a delicious typical Italian breakfast. Some mornings we had a table and room to ourselves, other mornings we shared a table with other guests. The proprietor, Nicola, gave us many recommendations that were great, he was very accommodating, was happy to share his family's history in the castle, and was always enjoyable to talk with. We felt very comfortable in our room and all of the common rooms during our stay, Nicola welcomed us into his home and made us feel at home. My boys enjoyed exploring the castle and seeing and living in real life medieval history. We often went up to the tower to see the views at different times of the day. The castle grounds are quiet and lovely, my husband and I enjoyed watching sunset one evening with a bottle of wine while sitting out in the garden. It was quiet and peaceful - we felt like we had the castle to ourselves - it was magical. It is best to have a car if you are staying here, it is about 8-10 minute drive to Siena, a winding road leads to the castle. Some of the roads around the castle, are worth exploring, especially the drive out to their family restaurant Le Pietre Vive. This was easily our favorite accommodation during our entire trip. I am looking forward to going back the next time I go to Italy.

We just returned home from our Italy trip and had the opportunity to stay 3 nights at the Castle. We are a family of 4 and the Blue Room was perfect for us. We drive from Rome to Siena and the castle is about 10 minutes from the main parking lots of Siena where you can take the lifts to the town center. Prior to our trip, the idea of staying in a 12th-century castle was interesting and we wanted the opportunity to have a true Tuscany experience. I must admit, I'm not a fan of the rustic travel accommodation while traveling. I do quite a bit of traveling for work and have got used to the modern luxuries of major chain hotels. That said, the stay at the castle was wonderful and we would certainly return again. Nicolas is a wonderful host. He was waiting for us on arrival and took the time to show us around the castle and filled us in on the history of the property. He also provided information for us to get into Siena and tips on the best place to park. Our room was basic but had all modern necessities for us to feel at home. There was also a portable AC in the room which was much welcome as the days during our stay, temps were in the high 80s. The views from our room and the common areas were simply fascinating. I woke up one morning to catch the sunrise and it was truly breathtaking. We also had our own breakfast room to enjoy the included breakfast. Breakfast was wonderful and provided ample energy to start our days of exploring the region. One minor suggestion would be if the breakfast items could potentially change a few times over the course of the week. We stayed for three nights and had the exact thing breakfast for 3 days in the rows. We also visited Nicolas' farmhouse restaurant which was about 15 minutes from the castle. Our dinner was wonderful with all locally sourced products. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the castle and looking forward to return in the future.
