    • Seriously the BEST experience!!

      Reviewed 09 July 2019

While visiting some friends in Sydney, we decided to head to the Hunter Valley for some wine tasting and exploring. With the numerous vineyards to choose from in the area, we decided to bounce around to a couple. Towards the end of the day, we decided to visit Waverley Estate as our last stop. THANK GOODNESS we did! This place was absolutely fantastic. Some of the best wines I have ever tasted. The views were spectacular. Renae and Rechel were our hosts and made sure that we felt right at home. They paired some wonderful cheeses with the wines for an overall perfect experience. Our favorite part was getting to hear some of the history of the estate and favorite wines of Frits. I HIGHLY recommend Waverley Estate to both wine connoisseurs and beginners. Being from the U.S. I'm already planning a trip back to Australia just to visit here again. The wine and views are excellent, but even more so are the people here. - Ryan

Wonderful customer service and gorgeous views. My favourite of the wines we tasted in the Hunter. Would never come again without visiting Waverley vineyard.

    • Friendly staff and good wines

We arrived at midday and the fire place had a fire burning, it is the first day of winter in Australia and it is cold. We were greeted by the friendly lady in the cellar door, Renae. There is a 5$ tasting fee which is ok because you get a small cheese platter and quite a few wines to taste. I liked the 2014 Shiraz, which is world class. Also the sparkling and Ros were perfect. I recommend this vineyard for a visit. I also received my 5$ refunded when I purchased my wines.

Visited Waverley Estate for Mother's day on Saturday what an experience!! We walked into the cellar door and were filled with warmth from the wood fire, greeted by smiling faces, surrounded by beautiful colourful artworks (painted by the owner's wife), feeling so welcome as we relaxed into the cosy cellar door setting (and this was before the wine and cheese platter!). Fritz (the owner) and Renee were so friendly, passionate and knowledgeable about each of the wines and the unique story behind them. Our absolute favourites were the 2017 Tile Rose, 2013 Cab Sav, and the 2015 Stubborn Ox Shirax. Oh and the 2018 Semillon too! (I could really go on forever). Anyway we wanted to say a BIG thankyou to Waverely for such a wonderful day, especially to Fritz and Renee who made it so much more enjoyable. We will be coming back! The Tooheys!

    • Best Winerys on our Bike Tour!

      Reviewed 01 May 2019

We did a bike tour with Grape mobile (totally recommend) and we had Waverley estate as the first on the tour. Renee was taking care of our group of 7, most of us live in Sydney but we all come from Europe and my mom was visiting from Sweden. Shout out to Renee, she was explaining the wines and educating us so everyone understood - true professional without over doing it! Also great service and made sure that the everyone was looked after with what wines they liked and wanted to try again. Super helpful and everyone in our group wanted to give her a special thanks! Also to mention- the view there was outstanding and dont leave without buying their Brut!
