My husband and I stayed for his business trip. This bed-and-breakfast was old and could use some TLC, but we enjoyed staying there a lot. We stayed in the Paintbrush room which is located on the first floor. The temperature in the room was comfortable, the room itself spacious and the bed was comfortable. The owner was out of town, but his daughter was managing the place while he was gone. She was nice and interesting to visit with. We did have a car, but many times we chose to walk places because lots of things were close by. We noticed a bus stop right outside the mansion but we didnt use it. Breakfast was truly amazing and we probably would not have changed anything, but I agree that 2 choices would have been nice. Thank you for a great stay and if we come to Denver again we would consider staying again.

Ok. ...We like to support historical places... but sometimes we struggle with these. The old smell, hard pillows, quirky passages, odd decor Take the good with the bad. Try to make the best of it and continue on. If old is your thing then go for it, we will search out more modern... Word for the owners... instead of having 8 hard pillows on the bed please offer at least 2 soft ones and have more than one option for breakfast other than biscuits and gravy Management was nice

    • Lovely B & B close to the centre of Denver

This was a lovely place for our one night stay. The Capitol Hill B & B is located in a lovely Victorian building about 3 blocks (a 10 minute) walk to the Colorado State Capitol and the centre of Denver. We arrived late (about 7pm) and were able to park in the off street car park at the back of the building which had space for about 6 cars. As all the on street parking around the building were occupied this was ideal. The hosts were not there when we arrived but had left instructions fixed to the front door as to the code for the front door and details about the room and breakfast. Our room was at the top of the house up four half flights of stairs which got narrower as we went up each flight. The room itself was very comfortable and had a balcony with a couple of chairs and a table. Behind the door was a small cupboard with coffee making facilities and a tiny fridge with a couple of cans of complimentary sodas and a couple of small bottles of water. The shower and wash basin were in the room the shower separated by a shower curtain. There were plenty of towels, toiletries , soap and facecloths. The toilet was along the same wall as the shower and washbasin behind a door. The room was spotlessly clean though it could do with some TLC as the paint was flaking from the ceiling. The Wi-fi was ok but rather on the slow side at times. The room was well equipped with hairdryer, flat screen tv & very effective air con. Downstairs there was a lounge and dining room for guests but as the weather was so good breakfast was served in the garden under parasols. The garden is reached by leaving the house and walking along a pathway around the side of the house. The breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit melon grapes, strawberries etc, orange juice and a cooked to order entree which changes each day we had fried eggs on cornbread garnished with a sweet red onion and fried bacon. This was the ideal place to the start of our holiday. .

    • Great location, comfort, and delicious breakfast

This is an excellent location to stay in downtown Denver. This is a beautiful old mansion with a variety of charming rooms. Our suite on the 3rd floor had a view of the gold dome of the Capitol, plenty of dresser space for clothes (more than other rooms I noticed), a kitchen, comfortable bed, and original claw-foot tub which, although small for showering, had great water pressure for the shower. Breakfast differed daily and was excellent! It is served outside at your table in an enclosed garden area with umbrellas for shade. Treat yourself to these very fine accommodations while in Denver.

    • Must stay place if looking for a bed and breakfast.

The property is in a wonderful location. It is clean and beautiful. Well kept. The patio is a great place to have breakfast and the cook is excellent. The amenities are best we have experienced. We had large party and they were so accommodating to us as a group. Must stay place.
