My husband and I booked what they called a chalet for labor day. Being a holiday we were aware that the rate would be high ,$307 for labor day then $69 the next nite. Thinking we have reserved a log cabin according to the photos on line. We were in shock when we arrived to find that our room was not a log cabin but just a flat wooden building in need of a paint job. All the log cabin chalets were what was visible from the main road. We discovered the 1st night that the bathroom sink would not drain. When we tried to plunge it with the plunger that was already there (1st bad sign) seweage came up into the sink. Needless to say, my husband was unable to shave the following morning and I brushed my teeth outdoors. I reported to front desk as we left at 7am. When we returned at 4pm nothing had been done. So once again I returned to the office to express my unhappiness with our room. The clerk was very rude. They attempted to repair but was not complete but doable since we were stuck thete for another nite Upon checking out the next morning once again, my husband this time, expressed our unhappiness on our stay. The same rude clerk told him he needed to read more carefully. They also advertise they have a heated pool and jacuzzi outdoors and an indoor pool. The pool is not heated and the water in the jacuzzi was a strange green. The hot breakfast is not on their property, you have to go to another hotel across the street. The envelope the maid left on our desk said" enjoy your stay" then she drew a sad face... BEWARE WHERE YOU BOOK VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER

Online they only show cabins. They don't mention the dumpy motel in the back where they stuck us. They also don't mention you have to walk up 18 steps carrying your heavy suitcase. We were not the only ones who were disappointed with this deception. My husband and I spoke with several others who were stuck in the dump behind the pretty cabins and they too thought they were renting the cabins. Will never return - cabin or no cabin!!

The cabin was absolutely amazing. Very comfortable and homey. The staff was so polite and helpful and friendly. Both pools, indoor and outdoor were clean and enjoyable. The breakfast was very tasty. This is home when we're not home.

Loved the privacy of the individual cabins. Loved the all wood interior. The free breakfast bar was better than others we have had. It was right across from the ferry to Mackinac Island with discounted ferry tickets.

7 senior ladies booked through booking.com website. After a 12 hour drive, we got into the cabin to find it was not the cabin we had booked. I'll start with the good - breakfast is ample, it is free, so what do you expect; location is close to everything; lake is across the street; the outdoor pool, indoor pool and hot tubs were nice. Note the indoor pool/waterpark does not open until 2:00 p.m. and don't expect to get in earlier and the waterpark is for "littles" only. The bad - the loft was very dirty. The main floor could also use a good cleaning. The same dirty plastic glove sat on the ground by our cabin for all 5 days. There are absolutely no utensils to be used so know you need to bring your own items. There was a hole in the wall in the bathroom and a towel was stuck in the hole. The shower head would fall off spraying water everywhere. There was mold surrounding the shower. There is no light over the bathroom mirror so you couldn't use that mirror. There was a little lamp in the living room and no light in the loft. There is one sofa that makes into a bed and one table with 2 chairs. We had to bring the chairs from outside into the cabin in order to have sufficient chairs for 7 people. The blanket on the sofabed was stained with grease and what may have been blood. In order to use the indoor hot tub/sauna or pool you had to go to the front desk each day and obtain a dated wrist band. If not, the pool Natzi would make you leave the area. Granted he was only doing his job. Do not be deceived - the cabins ARE NOT part of the Econo Lodge nor Choice Hotels. Night front desk people are friendly, but the morning clerk - well needless to say she is VERY DISMISSIVE and RUDE. Wen we asked to speak to the manager and she told us the cabins are independently owned and the owner wasn't there. We got 3 different answers when asking to speak to the Manager or Owner. VERY SHADY . . . . . . So my recommendation - check the room out FIRST before you unload to make sure what you think you are getting is what you are getting, check the cleanliness of the room, run the shower, check out the lighting situation and if you are going to use the sofabed - pull it out and look at it. We still had a good time, but if I ever went back I would not stay here - maybe check the Hamilton out - it is on the beach, has breakfast and many of the same amenties - and is cheaper!
