    • Lovely Spot

Our hosts were hospitable and engaging. We enjoyed their company as much as the beautiful oasis they have created. Each nook and cranny of the lodge and grounds held a unique treasure. Delightful and tasty meals, personalized service, restful sleep, peaceful environment all contributed to a charming ending to our NZ holiday.

    • Ok but nothing special.

We spent two nights here. I think we expected more and were a little underwhelmed. It is basically a Very expensive bed and breakfast. Breakfast was good. The evening meal on offer was very expensive so we declined. Ive had mosquito bites before but never had as many as I got here. Only sat outside for half an hour one evening and got bitten to death. They were huge bites and lasted well over two weeks. If you like remote locations then this is the place for you. Not really our cup of tea.

    • A must stay location!

We stayed here for three nights in early March. Petra and Reinhard are the most welcoming hosts who looked after us to perfection. The food is amazing, the location is peaceful and surrounded by bush and wildlife, the glow worms in the garden are amazing, too many superlatives to list! Very comfortable room, we had the garden suite with its own big terrace, perfect for winding down. Find any excuse to stay at least two nights, youre guaranteed a fantastic stay. And the kittens were an unexpected bonus too!

This lovely B&B provided a special 2 night stay. The room was cosy with a lovely veranda from which one could enjoy the garden and bird life. Built by the hosts, Petra and Reinhard, it had lots of great additions - such as a room for your suitcases to be spread out so they didnt get in your way. We saw Reinhard collecting ingredients for the meals and collecting fruit for the fresh morning jams. The food was excellent and they sat with us after dinner offering advice on local amenities. What a gem!

    • Idyllic place. Who could ask for more!!!

Stayed here overnight on the way from Auckland to Tauranga. Literally in the middle of nowhere! The hospitality offered by Petra and Reinhard was superb. The Lodge and its grounds are so peaceful and serene. The food is outstanding and your every need catered for. Perfect to stay over and relax after a long flight and weekend in Auckland. Those of you who have been to Germany will enjoy its Germanic features.
