    • Poor service

I asked for an extra hour for the check-out and I was told that I had to pay 20 dollars extra. A bit of flexibility in this type of hotels would be appreciated. Air conditioning didn't work and outside there was a bothering noise during the night, so I could not sleep with the windows open.

Enjoyed our stay here, l had my work Christmas party on the roof top terrace so it was very convenient. Large room with comfy bed, great sized bathroom with separate hand basin although you have to open the toilet door to wash your hands. Lighting in front of the mirror is poor and there is no magnifying mirror. Tv is controlled using an iPad, a call to reception solved this for us as there is no manual in the room. Buffet breakfast back on the roof top terrace was excellent - loved the pancake making machine! Underground parking is free, reception staff were very helpful and friendly.

Interesting decor. The room was very spacious but... The sliding door is an OHS issue as I jammed my finger in it so have emailed the manager to prevent others from the same fate. As my finger was aching it dampened the family occasion we were there for. The handles on the cupboards are shiny and too slippery to get an adequate grip to open. Don't understand the light switch for lights above the bed. You have to get up and go to the coffee nook and switch on from there???? You will need a sleeping mask or duct tape - there is a bright light that stays on ALL NIGHT above the toilet and shines through the glass bathroom doors. As per reception you CANNOT switch this off. They offered to send someone up with tape....we should've said yes! Breakfast was across the road at Hotel Realm. Very lovely attentive staff. Good buffet.

    • Poor cleaning , stained carpets

The hotel is in a great location, the staff are great and so is the breakfast but the cleaning is very poor. They showed us 4 one bed apartments and they all had badly stained carpets and the balconies were filthy, the bathrooms had not been cleaned properly and no mini bar in the fridges. The daily house keeping was very poor. We were able to move over the road to The Realm which is much cleaner and still part of the same Hotel block but also a lot more expensive and still has dirty balconies and the room cleaning could be better. Both hotels have great beds that are very comfy. Reception and breakfast staff are very friendly too.

    • Beautiful room but too much light in room

First, the room was gorgeous and clean with a comfortable bed, with excellent extras such as a desk, dim night light at the powder table, etc. Hotel itself is in a great location. Bugfet breakfast on the terrace was simple but fresh and delicious. I also got to enjoy complimentary use of the lap pool in a sister hotel, which was another pleasant extra. So why only 3 stars? Because it was a hotel and I was there to sleep...and I didn't really get it. Two reasons for this; one was the noise from the corner pub across the road. The other was that the corner drapes really didn't block out the street light very well. In fact, the light fell clear across the whole bed. I'm sure this wouldn't bother some people, but I personally need darkness to sleep. I suggest asking for a quiet room, which could resolve both the noise and street light issue.
