    • Wonderful apartment style accommodation

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. Excellent facilities with two great bathrooms, comfy beds, tv reception excellent, etc. kitchen is well designed. Only issue was the convection microwave oven. Oh boy, what a challenge. We went online to source the instruction booklet. That helped! Maybe a printout of the instructions would be a good addition to a drawer nearby! All in all, we would definitely stay again. Staff is terrific too

Stayed at the Burbury in Feburary 2020 overnight on a Sunday. In retrospect, an unfortunate choice given that none of the hotel's restauants are open on Sunday. We were really looking forward to dining at the Chairman and Yip which used to be an old haunt when it was located in Civic. Sadly, the restaurant in the Hotel Relm accross the road is also closed on Sunday. Fortunately both Manuka and Kingston, each of which has its fair share of great eateries, are only a short walk away. (We settled on Portia's Place at Kingston. The wasabi beef is outstanding!) Note, if possible avoid a Sunday check-in at any hotel within the parliamentary triangle coz none of the restaurants are open. Checkin was quick and staff very helpful and courteous. Off street, secure parking was great. There was quite the collection of used cutlery and crockery on the floor beside the entrance to our allocated room. Not quite what you'd expect for a 4 star hotel but I guess this is just another symptom of weekend staff cost cutting. The ac was faulty in the room we were given initially which was a shame because the second room we were given didn't have a balcony. Regardless, thanx to Will for making the room transfer quick and painless. The contemporary occasional chair common to both rooms looks interesting but obviously wasn't designed to be sat in. I find it anazing in this day and age that so few hotels have usb charging points in their rooms. Sadly, the Burbury is no execption. The shower does have a hand held option but the slide thingie which holds the shower head and slides up and down a vertical rail was broken in our new room with the result that the shower head is permanently aimed at navel height! All in all the stay at the Burbury was less than a satisfying experience.

I asked for an extra hour for the check-out and I was told that I had to pay 20 dollars extra. A bit of flexibility in this type of hotels would be appreciated. Air conditioning didn't work and outside there was a bothering noise during the night, so I could not sleep with the windows open.

Enjoyed our stay here, l had my work Christmas party on the roof top terrace so it was very convenient. Large room with comfy bed, great sized bathroom with separate hand basin although you have to open the toilet door to wash your hands. Lighting in front of the mirror is poor and there is no magnifying mirror. Tv is controlled using an iPad, a call to reception solved this for us as there is no manual in the room. Buffet breakfast back on the roof top terrace was excellent - loved the pancake making machine! Underground parking is free, reception staff were very helpful and friendly.

Interesting decor. The room was very spacious but... The sliding door is an OHS issue as I jammed my finger in it so have emailed the manager to prevent others from the same fate. As my finger was aching it dampened the family occasion we were there for. The handles on the cupboards are shiny and too slippery to get an adequate grip to open. Don't understand the light switch for lights above the bed. You have to get up and go to the coffee nook and switch on from there???? You will need a sleeping mask or duct tape - there is a bright light that stays on ALL NIGHT above the toilet and shines through the glass bathroom doors. As per reception you CANNOT switch this off. They offered to send someone up with tape....we should've said yes! Breakfast was across the road at Hotel Realm. Very lovely attentive staff. Good buffet.
