    • Great Rwanda Optional activity

The manager was not helpful and extremely rude. However, it was worth it to meet Elias, our guide for the Rwanda Day Trip. He was worth more than five stars. He was quiet but as soon as we left the genocide museum he brought our spirits up! He laughed and sang songs. He pulled over for a few minutes to take pictures of the stunning country side. An absolute legend. He made the border crossings super smooth, and made took care of us at the sometimes overwhelming local market.

    • Stunning lakeside views with lovely local gift shop but needs improvement

We stayed one night here in a twin cottage. The room was basic but comfortable and very spacious with lots of plug sockets. Both room and bathroom were clean. Only issue with the room was the shower - there was no pressure so the water only dribbled out the shower head, and the temperature was all over the place. In the end we showered under the tap, as we were only there one night. The food was generous portions and a good mixture of Ugandan, chinese, curry and western cuisines including crayfish dishes straight from the lake. Service in the restaurant (dinner and breakfast) was good but slightly slower in the bar. Wifi coverage was quite poor and my phone wouldn't connect, There's a giant chess board which we didn't have time to play but looked fun! My highlight was a gift shop attached to the restaurant which sold crafts, clothes and homewares made my women from the Kabale region as part of a social enterprise that offered employment, support and skills training. Everything was beautiful and reasonably priced - I certainly bought a lot for friends and family!

    • Disgusting, unhygienic, and extremely arrogant marketing director

If you are going to visit Bwindi STAY ANYWHERE ELSE. This place is horrible. The rooms were filthy. We had garbage under our beds, stains on the mattresses and holes in the bug nets. My friend and I both broke into fairly severe bacterial rashes after using the showers. When we approached the staff with red skin and covered pustoles they were so rude. Luckily we both work in the medical field and had brought first aid kits and medications. We were unable to see the lake during our stay because our rashes were so unbearable the only relief was taking antihistamines and sleeping the rash away. We asked the manager for a discount as we had paid $75usd per person per night and we're hardly able to leave our bed. They did not apologize but instead insisted the rash was from another cause and offered us a free alcoholic drink... Alcohol is not going to make a bacterial skin rash any better. Our tour guide who booked the hotel was very upset and also tried to to help us get a refund. He spoke to a marketing manager the same person who said all he could do was give us one free glass of alcohol. The tour company will not be going back to this hotel. ALSO I saw a few reviews about electricity in the showers. We were being shocked every time we touched the shower knobs

A lange place on the shore of lake Bunyonyi. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Great view of the lake from every point. The staff was helpfull, The restaurant was good, though one should expect 1h wait time for food. Facilities for self camping seemd to be good. The dirt road from Kabale might be challenging, especially during or after rain.
