I stayed here solely based on the reviews I read and was not impressed. Alina at the front desk (and only employee of the hotel we saw) checked us in. She was not welcoming or friendly and unfortunately didnt speak Ukrainian or English, only Russian. We speak only Ukrainian and English and as such there was a lot lost in translation. We did not receive anything upon checking in - I had to ask about the breakfast, dinner (there was none) and the wine cellar (which was also not functioning) Our room did not have a remote for the AC, and did not have any toilet paper. The property is ok, situated on a bumpy uphill road from the center of town, and easily missed as the sign is tiny. Private parking and diagonally across from the city castle. Breakfast was only ok and the wine cellar advertised for wine tasting, which we would have enjoyed, not encouraged. In short, we were disappointed. I would not stay here again, but instead would stay closer to the center of town.

Very nice place, perfectly located in the city center, near the castle. Good and friendly staff, big and confortable room and good breakfast (four choices but only continental breakfast). Everything was perfect.

    • Serenity close to the castle

The hotel, room, bed and decor are great. No doubt about that. But there are small things why it is not 5 out of 5. For breakfast you have limited choices, which by itself should not be a problem. But in a country where fresh fruit is extremely cheap... why no berries, prunes, etc.? No yoghurt? No milk? And if you order an extra cappucino for breakfast they charge you. Narrowminded. When we arrived they charged us a different amount then what they told us by phone. Perhaps we misunderstood, but they became defensive immediately. No need for that. So they could do better, especially for the amount of money they charge in a sleepy town like Uzhorod. But still we would go back any time.

    • Excellent hotel very close to the center

The hotel is located in a former (probably) aristocratic residence, very close to the center, specially the Greek-Catholic cathedral and the castle. The whole hotel is nice, there is a nice yard/terrasse where you can take the breakfast, there was a nice cat and a squirrel too :) The room was very clean and confortable, the bathroom *****, the whole atmosphere was excellent. The lady in the reception was very friendly too. The whole hotel is *****. You can also park inside.

    • Good place, poor service

      Reviewed 13 February 2018

Rooms. They are pretty nice, big and clear. BUT minibars are empty (water only), no hungers in cupboards Reception. Staff is TRYING to be helpful but it is quite inexperienced - clumsy behavior and uncertain answers. They accepted that there are empty rooms at 11AM but refused to give us rooms until 2PM. Also we were charged for additional 6% when we were trying to paid by credit cards. According to Ukrainian law it's equal to taxes for PE + bank's fee but they were trying to convince us it's just a bank's requirement. Ridiculous. No restaurant service without pre-order but quite good vine card. Good and quiet place just across the road Uzhgorod castle.
