Thew guided tour was great - Lesley our tour guide was both informative and very amusing. It was great to learn not only the history but also the current processes in making so many well loved beers. The tasting at the end was fun and although not much beer was poured we left feeling very happy we managed to get on this tour. Well recommended and as good as their beers!

We went to the brewery on a closed day. However, the staff was very nice and informative. They gave us a small look around, and we were still able to buy some of the house made beers and cider. Wish we could have made it back for the full tour.

    • An experience brewed to perfection, and that's not just the beer

I decided to plan a surprise for my fiance for his Birthday; a tour to the Wychwood brewery because Hobgoblin is his favourite drink. Having blind-folded my fiance, driven to brewery he saw what his Birthday surprise was. Once inside we were directed upstairs to a bar and offered a complimentary drink (soft for me-driving). When everyone booked for the tour had arrived, we were introduced to our tour guide Andy, who explained what would happen today. Andy began by giving us a History on Wychwood brewery and the link between politicians and musicians and HOW the name Hobgoblin came about. Following that, we were guided downstairs into one public bar area, where we saw items from the past connected to the brand of beer, which lead to us walking downstairs into the brewery itself. From here Andy, through using visual aids, gave a step-by-step guide on the making of beer as well as a few quiz questions. We were even given the opportunity to taste the wheats, which was an interesting experience, as well as smelling the different types of hops used and for what types of beers. The tour itself was informative and kept interesting through Andy's passion and enthusiasm and this continued when returning about to where we started, for the beer tasting session. Whilst everyone tried the various beers, Andy provided some background information on each drink and a 'did you know' nugget of knowledge that was a surprise. We were given a free half pint Hobgoblin glass and directed to the gift shop. It was great that there was a vast variety of things to see and buy- I bought my fiance a mug and a newly released t-shirt. I highly recommended this as an experience/ day out activity and something that would be ideal as a Birthday or Christmas present. My fiance thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we both have agreed to go back to the gift shop before Christmas. It was also go to know that many people in the area visit to bars and enjoy the quiz nights there. If you do get Andy as your tour guide, then you will definitely enjoy the experience.

What a fabulous tour. Our guide Andy was informative and very humorous. He made it a great experience. Plenty of beer to try and soft drinks too for our pregnant friend. Definitely great value for money.

    • Brilliant Tour of a Local Site

I was invited by friends to join them on the tour of the brewery, local to me. It was sooooooo informative and engaging much to the thanks of our guide, Chris. He was able to mix the technical aspects of brewing with lighter moments of which we found amusing and fitting. Your tickets allows for complimentary drinks and tastings and a half pint souvenir glass. The staff are friendly and also keen to engage with you responding to any questions you may have on brewing or the range of ales brewed. It is a plus to have a bar on site to extend your experience. I will be recommending the tour and experience to others.
