It was my Husbands birthday & we both had a wonderful time there at big game camps Wilpattu. It was kind of a life time experience in every way , from welcome to bye bye, and all the way, throughout our time at the Camp. They were very attentive with us even before our arrival , The Site Manager Senaka Called me to know the time we would arrive at the camp and the driver was waiting for us on time and he picked up & drove us to the camp. We were welcomed with a Cool lime drink and a refreshing towel. After our heartful and warm welcome the team brief us the details, Time schedule & showed us our tent. I cannot find words to describe how amazing the tent was. There was a Double bed, shower, toilet and everything one has in a hotel room as well. The camp operates plastic free, and you will find glassbottles instead of plastic bottles. All of the employees are true naturalists and wildlife enthusiasts the same as earth lovers. The nature and the wildlife was treated with respect! They had a lounge there & it was always very welcoming and chess boards & some books are available to read. You can even relax on the hammock. We really loved the Impressive layout & unique surroundings. The food in the camp was the most amazing food you can die for! Every meal was very delicious, fresh, and very authentic. Lunch serves in outdoor under trees & it is very pleasant to enjoy all the surroundings . Candlelight BBQ Dinner under the stars around the bonfire with other guest fun and really interesting & magical. Dinner alone under the same setting, magical. Food amazing We went on an early game drive and a wonderful pack of breakfast had been arranged for us by them. I really need to mention the setup they arranged the evening snack. That was simply the wonderful!!! The safari itself was incredible. But our eyes werent lucky enough spot a single to Leopard or a Sloth Bear. Our Camp Manager Senaka was a real expert and he knew everything and had an answer ready for all our questions. Thank you Senaka so much, you made our trip unique with your and welcoming way and your huge knowledge and deep concern towards the nature and the wildlife. All the staff very attentive and helpful. The Whole Big Game Wilpattu Team made our stay precious. I should not forget to thank the team for Birthday arrangements for my Husbands Birthday with a short notice. They arranged a yummy cake & its complementary. The best thing is we planted a tree as a birthday gift. That is kind of a live time gift for my husband and he was seriously surprised. Im pretty sure that this will be an unforgettable birthday for him. We will definitely come back for staying in Big game camp Wilpattu & also other sites in Yala & Udawalawa. I love to invite not only foreigners but also locals to get this wonderful experience. You wont regret for sure as its truly a great experience, second to none. It was one of the most impressive holidays ever! I should Thank Kasun at the Eco team Reservation and big shoutout goes to the whole team at Big Game Wilpattu , (Senaka, Sameera, Darshana, Sadun, Kind uncle & the other staff ) you made our stay fabulous!

It was my first camping experience and I was with my wife and some friends. It wasn't meeting my expectations. I thought I was doing glamping but it happened to be camping I guess. The bedding and the tent was basic that you could expect of. But Bed was okay for anybody to sleep. Washrooms were quite smaller & felt quite congested. It was fine because I stated there just one night. Water wasn't the best one could bathe & smelly. I could hardly brush my teeth there cz of the smell of the water. There was no telephone or a way of communicating and the staff were not to be seen. I found it very difficult my self to handle the day. I think Mahoora Camping would be great because it was spacious. Restaurants & meals: It was a lovely place where they had us for Dinner around a bon fire. It was a great picture and a new experience. The table was nicely set but the chairs were not matching the table as when you sit you cant use your cutlery at the table as the chair was too low. May be it could be cz of the elevation of the land but it should match the height for a proper dining experience. They served us BBQ and each plate was with a Piece of Chicken and a Piece of Pork. Unfortunately they did not check if any one of us were eating pork or not before serving. So they had to remove the pork and bring new dishes. Same it was with Lunch. They served beautiful Sri Lankan meal for Lunch but they served with Red Rice. I know it could be very healthy but some of us do not take. But there was no option than to have which ever they presented. I don't recommend this style for me or for any of my clients. I am not sure they treat the same way to the foreigners but I feel if they did it to me they would not care about my clients either. Forgot to mention I am a travel agent myself and my wife too. It was less encouraging. I have no comments to make for the safari as it was one of the best I could ever have & wilpattu is a great location. Sandun and Kapila was lovely handing it. We met some great people in the site Darshana and the other manager who was there was talking to us on the last day. We shared most of our experiences to him as we really though Eco Team were great service providers.

Great location but no staff to be found for drinks and food etc. It stated to use the bell or phone but there wasn't one to use and there was not much to do once there. The outdoor dinner was great tho and the tents big and clean.

I stayed at this place with my family and couple of friends last weekend and it was quite a pleasant surprise for all of us. We had our two kids aged 3 and half years old and 1year and 10months olds with us and they enjoyed the most. Actually it was my 2nd visit, previous one been more than 4 years ago and I enjoyed the same could quality service this time aswell. The tents are cozy with hot water, shover cubicle and a clean commode inside it. We stayed in the family tent and it had enough space for 5 of us. They have electricity and a fan equipped with low light bulbs to minimize any distruption to surrounding wild life. However it is not reccomended to stay at the tent for long in the day time as it is very hot inside at that time but you can have a peaceful sleep at night without any trouble from mosquitoes and other insects as tent is perfectly sealed. You won't have a majestic buffet but they will serve you delicious food at all 3 meals which would be a privilege at a camp site. Dinner is the best being under the stars around a camp fire and we had bbq chicken and pork with vegetables and kottu. They offered with fish when some of us refused meat. We had a half day safari included at our package and we were fortunate enough to sight 3 leopards, 2 bears and a tusker. In general it seemed like all the safari drivers are at a hurry to show as many animals as possible to the travellers so some times they drive faster than the given speed limit. I think that should be well regulated by the park officials. Our safari driver was in a rush to return to the park entrance by 6.30p.m. and got fined for high speed near the entrance by the officials. I had to call to several mobile numbers, several times to confirm my booking before arrival. I suggest it should be more convienient and efficient. But when we arrived at the camp they provided us with a 5 star grade service. All the staff at the camp were very professional and friendly. I'm looking forward to visit other big game camps in yala and udawalawa in future.

We were greeted with such warmth even though we arrived somewhat late. I had also forgotten to mention that we were, however this new was received as not a problem at all, and we were promptly delivered a vegan alternative to the BBQ, which we were really happy about. Dining under the stars around the fireside was a special experience. We were also impressed with the spontaneous, complimentary 'Dahl' cooking lesson in the morning, which we were served for breakfast. It was delicious and fresh. This was a great experience for one night, and I liked the fact that they are eco friendly.
