    • How have I never been here before?

In 20 years of visiting CT I had never been here. The weekend we visited was crazy as it was Strawberry festival. Lots of things for families to do. Check out their events. The food market was fantastic....great baked goods and foodie gifts. I loved it so much I went back!

    • Best place to go for fruit picking and spend a fun family day

This place has hundreds and hundreds of acres of fruit trees. It gets very busy on weekends. They also have the best apple cider doughnuts. I usually buy at least 2 boxes and they never make it home. We go there every fall and summer to pick apples, peaches, pumpkins and raspberries for the past 15 years. In the summer they set up tents and have concerts and the corn maze is alot of fun for my kids. I can't say anything bad about this place except they need to expand the parking area especially in the summer and fall weekends when it gets packed and there is a traffic jam to get into the store area. Its a great place for family to spend several hours. They have a cafe in the store that serves sandwiches and outside they have hotdogs and burgers with picnic benches. They also have a restaurant and golf courses that are very well maintained. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you visit. If you are wondering, I'm not affiliated with them or getting anything from them for a good review.

    • fun place to go during autumn

I enjoy going there during the fall season since they will have the apple ready to pick, pears if you go during early autumn. I also brought my parents to the farm, it is a really cool experience for them since they have never been to a fruit tree farm at all.

This is a destination for people across the state. Famous for its apple pies (carried by some Whole Foods stores), it has many prepared foods. Baked goods also include cider doughnuts that are super special and apple fritters, too. Lots to do in seasons including pick your own and the annual corn maze. The Lyman family has owned this land for over 200 years. They have justified pride in having served generations of customers. Enjoy a day in the country and visit.

We started in Hartford headed to the coast and decided to stop. We were so glad we did. The food is excellent. It was packed with people but there was so much to see and buy.
