    • Casa Cimino B&B

      Reviewed 30 October 2019

I recently spent 8 nights in this lovely little B&B. Massimo and his son Mirko were very friendly and helpful and speak excellent English. They are there every morning to serve breakfast and make coffee to your liking. Massimo was a big help in calling my hotel in Matera and getting directions and instructions on parking for the driver, who was also arranged by him (100). The room was spotless and had a tiny balcony. I was able hang a few things out to dry on the line there. The rooftop terrace was beautiful with panoramic views of the city. The only downside is there are very steep, narrow stairs and no lift. It's a very old building, so not good for anyone with disabilities, the elderly or young children. I worked off all the wonderful food I consumed while staying in gorgeous Lecce. I highly recommend Casa Cimino B&B!!

    • Great return visit

      Reviewed 07 October 2019

I returned to the Casa Cimino after 5 years and was not disappointed. Monopoli has changed a lot in the 5 years but the Casa Cimino still holds its great charm and has a great location in the centre of the old town just off one of the squares and the habour. The rooms are a good size and the bathrooms clean and modern. The rooms are clean and simply furnished. The main addition to the B&B is a lovely roof terrace, which is a great location for an early glass of wine before going out or too just relax with a good book. The breakfast is served in the basement and is limited but fresh and tasty. The biggest challenge for anybody over a 5 ft 6 inches is to get down the tight stairs without banging your head on the low ceilings at the top of the stairs. The B&B also has a lot of stairs with each of the rooms is on a separate floor/half-landings.

    • Great Location

This little B and B is in a wonderful location. It is clean and the owner is very nice. We do think people should be aware of the amount of stairs that are in this building. The building is old and the stairs are narrow and steep. It was 30 steps to our room, another 30 or more up to the terrace and then at least 20 to go to breakfast. Only one room per floor so other rooms had more steps. Breakfast was typical Italian and nicely done.

    • Nice B&B in Centro Storico

This is a nice b&b right in the middle of the old town. Our room was very clean and had a little balcony to the back street. Could hear some people talking on the streets during night so might need ear plugs if a light sleeper. Thanks for the tip for the local bus to the nearby beaches, please double check the bus timetable for Alberobello, it has been updated! Breakfast is good and consists of various pastries, though better be early as portions are not that generous. Lovely roof terrace!

    • Very good but ...

      Reviewed 07 July 2019

Mirko and Massimo were excellent hosts. Everything worked well (not always a given in places like this and Massimo is always maintaining things to a high standard. The location is perfect. Easy to walk to from the train station, just around the corner from a piazza full of restaurants and bars but far enough away to be quiet at night. 4 rooms, one per floor. The stairs are narrow and twisty so if you are not comfortable with that or if you have large bags I suggest asking for the ground floor room. The room itself was large, full of character, spotlessly clean, good air con, tiny balcony but enough to dry the washing. Downstairs is the breakfast room. These are the tightest stairs of all. But breakfast is worth it. Several home made cakes, fruit from their garden (in season), barista made coffee. A great start to the day. There is a rooftop seating area which catches the breeze. Wifi worked ok most of the time. Thanks Massimo for a wonderful stay.
