The room I booked gave the impression it was a lake view. It was not. I was on the first floor and the floor of my room was lower than the pool deck outside so my view was the people sunbathing at the pool. Not very romantic. The pillow was too soft to support my head. The shower water never got hot. The staff was excellent. Service is the best I have had at many hotels. Breakfast was too much food to eat and a great value at the Silver Trumpet next door. The decor is very artsy and the type of place my wife loves. Everything was clean and comfortable. The location is excellent if you want to spend an evening walking through the wonderful grounds at the Segerstrom Center and enjoy the many excellent restaurants near by. The hotel is quiet and we enjoyed ourselves despite the shortcomings.

After 5 days at Disneyland, I decided before heading home to take a time out and spend my last evening in SoCal having some quiet time. Pulling up, I was greeted by the nicest people. Walking in, the lobby is spacious, calm and quiet with a small stream running through. The colors were muted and so lovely. I immediately, took a breathe and just enjoyed. There was ice water available to everyone. After a short wait, I was able to check in. As a Marriott property, I was offered the option of mobile check in earlier but opted to get the full experience since this was my first time. The customer service did not disappoint. I was greeted with a smile and courtesy. Heading up to my room, the elevator is easy to find and quick. My room had hardwood floors. Love. Walking in, its spacious and has a balcony. There is a lovely sitting area with a comfy chair, a desk for working and flat screen tv. The bathroom has both shower and tub. The flatscreen tv gives you the option to log into your Netflix or HBO as well as the options of normal cable channels. Flopping onto the bed, it was soft and comfy. The pillows were a little to flat and soft. Room service was offered as well as a happy hour and lovely menu from the restaurant downstairs. My night was quiet and calm and I throughly enjoyed it. I was able to take the free shuttle to the John Wayne Airport. (Make sure you let them know at check in, its 15-20 to the airport and the shuttle is free) The stuff were thoughtful and everyone had a smile for me. I wished my flight had been cancelled so I could spend another night.

We stayed only one night on a leisurely road trip to San Diego but it was a great evening. I would definitely go back/recommend this hotel to friends. The beds were super comfortable and the hotel was quiet which afforded us the opportunity to sleep in. The water pressure in the shower was excellent and the room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. We loved being close to some amazing restaurants for both dinner and breakfast.
