Amazing
ReviewedJust amazing- the location, the service, the room. I would highly recommend this hotel! So clean, large comfortable rooms, great breakfast selection. The staff made us feel very special. We were able to check in early and they even gave us a birthday/anniversary basket. This is our new favorite hotel!
RyRenthe reviews don't lie
ReviewedI read tons of reviews and decided upon this hotel based on TA reviews. I was not disappointed! Vail is an expensive place to visit, know that going in. This hotel offers free breakfast and parking- that alone is worth something. Then add the friendly front desk and concierge, valet parking and yummy cookies in the afternoon- SO worth it! Bed were comfy and pillows much better than some hotels I've visited (why are they all so smushy?) Small pool overlooking the creek. No bar in the hotel, but plenty nearby. Good location, easy to walk or ride bus anywhere around Vail and beyond. Don't hesitate to book it!
Tori BLovely hotel, excellent location
ReviewedOur family really enjoyed our short break at Austria Haus. Traditional room but spacious and spotlessly clean. Small balcony was nice to sit out on and watch bustling Vail. Parking included in the price of the room and really efficient service when we wanted the car, a friendly and helpful valet brought it up within minutes. Concierge services were also friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine but is, I believe, an area that could be improved upon; a little repetitive by day 3! Kids loved homemade cookies being available throughout the day. Swimming pool was also loved by the kids.
MM12013Very Nice traditional hotel in the centre of Vail
ReviewedTraditional hotel with old styled rooms but very comfortable. Helpful and friendly staff available whenever you need them. Nice breakfasts available, but there was a cooked available one day and we never saw it offered again for the next two days, so a bit of a mystery. Afternoon tea/coffee and cakes were nice also. Good little pool and deck area, small but OK. Very good location for the centre of Vail with shops and restaurants etc. The lifts are very old in the hotel and as our room was near one it was quite noisy in the late evening if you were trying to get some sleep for an early start; kept us awake most nights. Valet parking under the hotel is a good service as well.
ian sTerrific staff, very clean, comfy bed, chalet decor
ReviewedWe are locals who came for a little getaway during hot summer temps in Denver for a cool refreshing stint in the mountains. We picked Austria Haus based on the reviews and pricing that is better than Sonnenalp or other high end hotels that charge for parking and don't include breakfast. So - a good combination of value + luxury! The staff here, to a person from front desk to valet to concierge to housekeeping to breakfast room servers are all so friendly and helpful. Not over the top hotel we-have-to-do-this friendly, but sincerely nice. Our king room faced the front of the property (I believe the creek and pool-facing ones are the condos vs. the hotel rooms) and it was still a nice view and not at all noisy. I'm not sure how it would be during ski season with many more people streaming past the front and talking. We were on the 2nd floor and it was just fine, but if we came during high season I would ask for a top floor just to be on the safe side. The windows do a good job of muffling any noise. It's as clean as any hotel we've been in, and we've been in A LOT everywhere 4-and-5 star. The decor puts you in the mood for gemutlichkeit and would be even more cozy with the fireplace on in winter. The breakfast was as expected - nothing fancy hard boiled eggs, deli meats and cheeses, yogurt, cottage cheese, breads and bagels, cereals, waffle maker. One day on Wednesday they had made to order omelets and bacon/sausage but not the other days. I'm not sure if it's always that way. One of the other big pluses is that they are affiliated with The Lodge Rock Resorts property a short walk away which has a much bigger fitness room and two bigger pools. So you basically have a choice of an onsite small pool and small hot tub or larger ones. All are heated for those of us wimps who can't do unheated pools LOL. I will say both properties need to update their chaise lounge cushions though. Definitely recommended for both summer and winter! We'll be back.
