After checking in to another hotel and finding out what it was a complete dive ,we decided to try this hotel for last minute accommodation. The staff could not have been more helpful in finding us two superb rooms. We were delighted with our new choice which included breakfast that also highly recommended. After checking into our rooms we came down for dinner and we were pleased we did. But the big plus in this hotel are the staff who couldn't have treated us any better. Special mention to Hamish and Vicki who treated us like family. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

A couple of night away for us. The room was lovely and the breakfast was nice. We didnt spend too much time in the hotel but when we did the majority of staff were polite. The lack of bar staff was a bit of a problem having to wait 10 mins in line for a drink.

    • Lovely Location, Traditional Breakfast, Friendly Staff

Hotel impressive from the outside, but looking a little tired in places inside. However, this didn't detract from the friendly and attentive staff we met on the reception, bar and restaurant areas. Lovely room (if a little dated, but clean) overlooking the loch as requested with an openable window. Stayed DBB which was perfect well worth the 125 as evening meal was 3 course with several choices (plus a further additional choice with a small supplement). Nice touch with the option of trying local fayre at breakfast ie; haggis and potato cake which were delicious. Would definitely stay again if frequenting the area.

Went with National holidays. When we arrived the view took are breathe away. The room was nice and clean and we had breakfast and evening meal every day included as well as lots of trips. entertainment every evening. On the second day I had too much sun and wasn't feeling very well in the evening, a really nice waiter called Willie noticed I wasn't eating and thought it was because I didn't like the food and offered to get me something else. Later on I felt much better and went down to the bar for a drink. Willie noticed us there and when it got to bed time he brought me some cheese and biscuits because he knew I hadn't eaten. I thought this was really kind of him. Loved this hotel and the National holiday trip...First time been on one. Would definite go again.

    • Beautifully Located by Unsightly in Places

Arriving at this beautiful hotel on the shore of Loch Long one can not help but admire its stunning location, but it is surely let down by the neglect of public areas outside of the property. When myself and my friend arrived for just one night on 15/08/19 we sat in their beer garden, to be greeted by overflowing, stacked and flooded ashtrays, empty coke cans, collapsed and discarded umbrellas and to be honest, absolute filth. Only some of this was cleared up by Hamish the Manager when a coach arrived. We checked in, and was faced by a rather abrupt woman that could do with a lesson or two in customer service, or just simple 'greetings' that could include 'Welcome'. Leading up to the first floor there was a sash window that was open, and an empty cider bottle lay on the roof that it led to, and given the age of it it had been there for quite sometime. At breakfast we weren't really greeted, just seated. Average breakfast, nothing special. Ok hotel, would probably look father afield next time.
